Here Comes The New Profit (Scientist dub)
Review: Multi-Culti regular Dreems (AKA Aussie producer Angus Gruzman) makes music that's deeply psychedelic, but often extremely difficult to neatly pigeonhole. He's at it again on this first outing for Pinchy & Friends, which combines a trio of original cuts with a similar number of total reconstructions from dub hero Scientist. You'll find the former on the A, with analogue-rich synth-wave throbber 'Watchamacallit Machine' being joined by the minimalistic, bass-heavy brilliance of 'String Gadget' and the tactile psychedelic electronic funk of 'Here Comes The New Prophet'. Scientist's dubs are naturally excellent, with the much-loved mix-master re-imagining Gruzman's tracks as deep, spaced-out electronic dub tracks. They're all great, with his dub of 'Here Comes The New Prophet' being the most dancefloor-ready of the lot.

In Your Eyes (4:04)
Adriatica (4:06)
Secrets (1:21)
Angel (4:08)
Review: Heart People is a new project from long-time Australian underground operative Ryan Grieve and Rachel Rutt, and on this record for Pinchy & Friends they sail towards Balearic tones aplenty across four dream state cuts for sun-down, sun-up or any hour in between. 'In Your Eyes' breezes along on the smoothest of rhythm sections, draped in the lilt of acoustic guitar and guided by Ruth's heavenly voice. 'Adriatica' is a pitch-perfect cast adrift into cascading synths, flute motifs and reverb-soaked bongos, all the better to float away to. 'Secrets' explores 80s drum machine meditation and sampledelia, while 'Angel' takes on a more mysterious tone with a hint of Cocteau Twins woven in for good measure.

Here We Go (JAZ edit) (4:50)

Push Comes To Shove (JAZ edit) (7:00)
Review: South Carolina's John Zahl aka Jaz returns. He's said to be a DJ/Episcopal Priest from Charleston, South Carolina who digs deep, uncovering vinyl gems from the mid-80s with lots of drum machines and tons of fun weirdness - as heard on his many mixtapes on Soundcloud. Some of that material gets featured on this collection of edits here for P&F Recordings, who make a departure from original compositions in favour of these four beautiful downtempo edits by a modern day master of the craft. From the low slung boogie funk of "Dancing In The Sunshine", to the neon-lit '80s R'n'B of "Here We Go" and the slo-mo rock swagger of "Push Comes To Shove" - there's all you need right here!

Cloud Worship (5:13)
Pick A Toy (6:29)
Puzzle (5:27)
Friday Night (5:00)
Review: Under the Jaz alter-ego, John Zahl has been serving up laidback, Balaearic-minded edits of musical obscurities since the mid 2000s. Initially, that was for Claremont 56 offshoot Sixty Five, but in the last decade he's also appeared on Passport To Paradise, Rotating Souls and, most recently, Pinchy & Friends. Here he returns to the latter label with four more rubs of atmospheric cuts from the dusty corners of his record collection. He begins with the wonderfully throbbing, solo-heavy dancefloor synth-scape of 'Cloud Worship', before successfully tinkering with a tactile, semi-organic proto-house gem on 'Pick a Toy'. Over on side B, 'Puzzle' is a tidy revision of a cosmic-minded, French language Balearic synth-pop gem, while 'Friday Night' is an eccentric, off-kilter slab of new wave disco oddness.

Strings Of Eden (8:37)
Strings Of Eden (feat Miguel Atwood-Ferguson - Garden mix) (8:35)
Passing Clouds (4:22)
Review: Alex Kassian's debut 'Hidden Tropics' EP showcased Balearic beat mixed with ambient drone, though the German artist forwent this natural ambient tone in favour of a deep house cut earlier this year in the form of 'Leave your Life'. 'Strings of Eden' shows a return to form, with 2 brand new tracks offering a serene combination of flutes, piano, and even wave sounds and didgeridoo on 'Passing Clouds'. One thing Kassian has not left behind is the collaborative spirit from 'Leave your Life', with one of the three spots on this record being a synth infused 'Strings of Eden' Garden mix by Miguel Atwood-Fergusson. Think of it as the cooling tropical night to Kassian's sunny day in paradise. Kassians EP is just that, it's a taste of paradise.

Spirit Of Eden
Spirit Of Eden (Bill Laswell dub)
Review: ***B-STOCK: Creasing to corner of outer sleeve but otherwise in excellent condition***

Berlin-based musician, producer, and DJ Alex Kassian is well known for his solo works but also his work as Opal Sunn. Here he leaves behind the gritty and sweaty dance floor and heads out into the sun. 'Leave Your Life (Lonely Hearts Mix)' pairs live sounding drums and nice Balearic riffs with care-free feels that lift your spirits. The dance mix is more weight and propulsive and then 'Spirit Of Eden' again sets off through a clear blue sky, with twinkling chords and soft, pillowy drums. The Bill Laswell dub layers in the reverb and slows things down to a nice lazy tempo.

Transcendental Experience (4:59)
The Kemetist (6:44)
Infinite Balance (5:14)
Meta Music (3:19)
Review: Napoli producer Enrico Fierro AKA Milord may not yet be quite as well known as fellow city dwellers New Guinea, but he shares the same love of cosmic synthesizer sounds, atmospheric electronics and lo-fi drum machines. "Meta/Music", his first EP for Pinchy & Friends, inhabits a similar sonic space to the Early Sounds Recordings regulars, too - or at least the synth-fuelled jazz-funk-meets-Balearic cuts "The Kemetist", "Infinite Balance" and the sparse, dubbed-out bliss of "Meta Music" do (incidentally, all three feature copious amounts of dub style delays on the drum hits, which is no bad thing). Best of all though is opener "Transcendental Experience", a slow-burning fusion of new age melodies, intergalactic electronics and minimalist drums that's worth the admission price on its own.

I Love You (6:09)
Review: Pinchy & friends welcomes Ruf Dug, the versatile producer from Manchester who has released on labels like Rhythm Section, Klasse Wrecks and his own Ruf Kutz. His first release on the label is a two-tracker that blends dub techno, Chicago acid and Balearic vibes. 'Thru The Night!' is a techno jam with a tropical vibe, featuring flutes with echo effects and a catchy vocal hook that sounds like an 8-bit video game. On the other side, 'I Love You' transforms a synth riff in a minor key into a sophisticated and sexy dancefloor anthem for the late hours.

Counterclockwise (4:44)
Menta Y Menta (4:06)
Pardon (3:49)
Review: Yu Su's eclectic, organic sound is one that has been perfected over every consecutive release, and reaches its yetmost peak with 'I Want An Earth'. As if to make a defiant cry for a habitable planet, this one contains four tracks inspired by the artist's time spent in the deserts of Ojai, California, and the coastal areas of British Columbia, presenting a deeply pad-driven, warm and modular sound to match. A dazzling work of odd-timed cosmickery and varied sonics.
