Review: Prolific, prodigious jungle explorer Seb Uncles arrives on Rupture LDN in a logical meeting one minds which shows how much there is to be excited about in d&b right now. 'Optimyst' is a sparkling cut which shows off the Eusebeia sound in all its glory. The push and pull between aggression and delicacy is masterfully handled, as Uncles' insanely detailed production hooks you in and feeds body and mind in equal measure. The airy pads behind 'Restoration' set a dreamier tone for the track, but there's plenty of force on display up front. 'Shadow Work' is a nimble affair with pronounced synth hooks, while 'Darkest Before The Dawn' focuses on the cinematic mood which so often creeps into the Eusebeia sound, albeit marked out by yet more staggering displays of jungle science.

Review: Holsten makes a fine impression here with his debut EP on Rupture LDN. It's a drum & bass excursion that operates at the darker and menacing end of the spectrum and opens with the eerie bell hits of 'All Talk' (feat Overlook). Thrilling breaks soon take over as the turbulence synths grow ever more wild and 'Stallion' then mixes up fizzing synth chaos with tight, kinetic drum programming. On the B-side, 'Understand' is another tough drum workout with haunting pads, and 'One Step Closer' shuts down with withering sci-fi motifs and a seriously wobbly low end.

Review: The latest d&b sermon on Rupture is a collaboration from two devoted practitioners of the craft - Pugilist and Tamen. Holding it down for Western Australia's scene, they've linked up for a number of releases in recent times, turning heads with their drop on Dext which no doubt helped fan the flames for this knockout EP. There's expertly woven tension on mid-pressure 'Anda' and pin-prick threads of percussion punctuating 'Extract', while the textural sound design is just as subtle and refined. This is subtle but incredibly effective d&b of the highest order, as if you'd expect any less from a new release on Rupture.

Review: Something classy and jazzy right now from the Rupture family as Rumbleton returns with a clutch of musical jungle explorations. Sitting somewhere between 4 Hero and Earl Grey, each cut rattles and sparkles with that cosmic, otherworldly feel. Tension and dynamics range vividly as 'Right Ingredients' unhurriedly sets the scene while 'Raw Deal' ups the energy with score-like momentum. Flip for a Good Looking adventure into the cosmos on 'Just A Dream' before 'Island Cream' wraps up proceedings with the heaviest, drum-focused track of the EP. Pure breakbeat funk with strong doses of jazz. Take a tumbleton for the Rumbleton.
