Tempo 100 (Rock Feierwerk Sieger 87 version) (5:15)
Review: Quirky German jazz four-piece Trimolo were formed in 1984, though it wasn't until 1988 that they finally recorded their sole self titled album. Here that sought-after set is reissued for the first time, with the addition of a handful of other rare and previously unheard recordings justifying the amended title ("New Chapter"). It's an unusual but impressive set, with the band's unusual instrumental palette - acoustic guitar, flute, synthesizer, percussion - delivering bright, breezy and entertaining tracks that sit somewhere between new age, jazz-funk, folk and the krautrock inspired sounds of Kraftwerk's earliest albums. It's a bold and brilliant stylistic blend that's genuinely tricky to pigeonhole.
