Review: Experimentalist Claire Rousay has a fine track record of crafting releases that blur the boundaries between electro-acoustic music, electronica, ambient and sound collage. Her latest album, Everything Perfect is Already Here, follows this hybrid blueprint, with Rousay combining harp, piano, violin and electronics with all manner of highly atmospheric field recordings and samples of everyday life. The two resultant pieces unfurl and evolve gradually, with folksy instrumentation rising and falling above a bed of vocal samples, snatches of field recordings and effects-laden aural textures. They're both beautiful, deeply immersive and evocative, allowing the listener to construct their own imaginary worlds. A quiet, unassuming triumph.
