Tascam MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42B USB Audio Interface (black)
Cat: 811412 Rel: 12 Feb 21

USB audio interface for broadcasting
Notes: The Tascam MiNiSTUDIO Creator US-42B is a computer audio interface that has been developed to enable anyone to broadcast their programs to the world with ease. By using a dedicated device with high-quality audio circuits for mic and instrument input you lay the foundation for impressive sound in high quality. Moreover, the MiNiSTUDIO Creator offers several techniques that can make programs more interesting in order to grow your audience. Professional broadcasters, for example, call pre-recorded clapping, cheering and other sounds with a press of a button. With the Sound Pads on the MiNiSTUDIO Creator you too can trigger such sounds simply by pressing buttons. There is also a ducking function that lowers the volume of background music during announcements. And you can use voice effects and reverb to improve the atmosphere and raise the level of excitement of a program.

Providing your audience with sound that is easy to follow is also a way to make them feel more welcome. The MiNiSTUDIO Creator has excellent audio circuits inherited from music creation devices, so you can capture clear sound just by connecting a mic or other sound source.

Since you will operate this device while broadcasting, ease-of-use is very important. The user interface has as few controls as possible so that it can be used intuitively even by people who are not knowledgeable about audio equipment. In addition, the dedicated software used for selecting sound effects and triggered sounds, has an EASY page that anyone can use and an EXPERT page for advanced users with all the details you can imagine.

Use a Tascam MiNiSTUDIO Creator to make your own unique broadcast programs, or create podcasts that not only convince in terms of content, but also in terms of sound.

Among the features of the MiNiSTUDIO series, the user interface is the biggest difference from audio interfaces design for music creation. Tascam started from scratch and designed these units especially for personal broadcasting, carefully choosing the controls so that even people who are not familiar with audio equipment can use them without trouble.

In addition to supporting professional external mic, a MiNiSTUDIO is also compatible with computer headset mics and 4-pole earphones with mic designed for smartphones. You can use equipment that you already have for personal broadcasting with these units. When using a 4-pole earphones with mic, connect it to the dedicated earphones mini-jack.

The input monitoring method allows you to listen to the audio using headphones before it is sent to the computer. The input sound is always sent to the headphones output, so no special setting is needed for this.

Press the ON button to start sending the sound that you are hearing in the headphones to the computer. The button will light when sound is being sent.

Using the loopback function that mixes in the playback sound from the computer (WDM) and sends it back to the computer, you can play program background music using music playback software (iTunes or Windows Media Player) that is already installed on the computer. Since this loopback function is always on, no special setting is necessary. Moreover, the stereo AUX input mini-jack enables the connection of an iPod or other portable music player to use for playback. You can also connect a synthesizer or other stereo instrument to the AUX input jack using a conversion cable (sold separately).

The lightweight design of the MiNiSTUDIO units means you do not have to hesitate to take one with you. You can attach a commercially-available camera strap and use the unit hanging from your neck. The mic input jacks use locking mechanisms to avoid disconnection during movement.

Tascam US-16X08 16-In/8-Out Rackmount USB Audio & MIDI Interface
Cat: 554444 Rel: 05 Feb 15

Rackmountable USB audio/MIDI interface with ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamps
Notes: The TASCAM US-16x08 captures 16 mic and line inputs to your computer with clear sound quality and advanced features to manage big sessions. Eight Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps deliver the cleanest and quietest operation in their class while delivering up to 56dB of gain. An additional eight line inputs are provided, two of them switchable to instrument level for direct guitar or bass recording. Eight balanced line outputs are also available, two with a level control on the front panel for monitoring.

Built into the US-16x08 is a DSP Mixer for low-latency digital mixing. Each channel has four-band EQ and compression for polished-sounding monitor mixes. In addition to interface mode, the US-16x08 can be used stand alone as a standalone mic preamp. Mac and Windows drivers are provided, as well as USB Class Compliant 2.0 drivers for tablets like Apple's iPad. MIDI input and output are also available on the rear panel.

Whether using the ergonomically-designed angled desktop stand or mounting with the included rack ears, the US-16x08 includes analog I/O for almost any music recording application.

TASCAM's own Ultra-HDDA mic preamps are the cleanest, quietest, and best-sounding from any interface in their range. A gain range of 56dB makes them ideal for any type of mic - dynamic, condenser, or ribbon. With preamp performance well beyond any interfaces in their price range, the Ultra-HDDA preamps on the US-16x08 makes your tracks sound like a record.

TASCAM's Ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamp design is based on discrete components, just like classic professional gear. They achieve an incredible EIN rating of -125 dBu, meaning their noise level is practically below the range of hearing. Other impressive specs include a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB, out-speccing anything in its price range. But instead of judging the design merely by test measurments, key components were selected following extensive listening tests.

The first two channels can be switched to direct guitar inputs. They're ideal for direct recording of electric and acoustic guitar and bass without the need for a preamp. Use them with amp modeling software, like the TH2 effect included with SONAR X3. (Guitar effect plug-ins sold separately.)

The Ultra-HDDA mic preamps and line inputs offer 20dB of headroom for distortion-free recordings of percussive, high SPL instruments like drum tracks.

Eight XLR mic inputs and eight TRS inputs can be used simultaneously for 16-track live recordings. Capture every detail of live performances or rehearsals for later mixdown.

The eight XLR mic inputs have switchable +48V phantom power to use up to 8 condenser mics at the same time. The two front panel TRS line inputs are switchable between instrument level and line level input with adjustable gain. An additional six TRS line ins on the rear of the unit are switchable between -10dB and +4dB. All of the jacks support balanced or unbalanced 1/4" signals.

When powered on with out a USB connection, the US-16x08 functions as an 8-channel microphone preamp. Mics pass through the Ultra-HDDA preamps to the eight balanced line outputs on the rear panel. Use the interface to add additional high-quality mic inputs to a mixer an another audio interface.

Digital processing features like the DSP Monitor Mixer and advanced USB drivers make sessions with the US-16x08 comfortable for the musicians and engineer. The DSP Mixer includes processing for a polished-sounding headphone mix without latency delay from your DAW software, fueled by a Blackfin DSP processor. And new drivers, re-written from the ground up, provide beter compatibility and performance on Mac, Windows and iPad recording systems.

The converters and electronics on the US-16x08 allow you to record at audio resolutions up to 96kHz/24-bit for detailed acoustic productions. No matter what your session's sample rate is set for, the high-quality analog and digital design make your recordings sound their best.

The US-16x08 uses USB 2.0 to connect to your computer, found on nearly every computer manufactured in the last 10 years. Simply connect the interface to any available USB port. USB 2.0 provides plenty of data bandwidth, even when recording 16 channels at 96kHz/24-bit. The US-16x08 will also work with USB 3.0 jacks on your computer.

Powered by an Analog Devices BlackFin DSP processor, the US-16x08 includes an advanced digital mixer for monitor mixing. Each input includes 4-band EQ, a low-cut filer, and compressor. The DSP mixer can store up to 10 snapshots as scenes - making it easy to recall mixer settings. An additional tab opens a digital patchbay to route signals to any output.

Tascam US-1x2HR High-Resolution 1-In/2-Out USB-C Audio Interface (black)
Cat: 798791 Rel: 12 Jan 21

High-resolution USB-C audio interface
Notes: Quality audio interface in a small box from this, the baby of Tascam's high-resolution US-HR range. Simple 2-in, 2-out design with sampling rates up to 192 kHz / 24-bit.

Supplier's Notes:
High-Resolution USB Audio Interface (2 in / 1 mic, 2 out)

The US-1x2HR is the smallest member of the Tascam US-HR series of high-resolution USB audio interfaces. It has one mic and one instrument input and is therefore particularly suitable for simple and intuitive guitar/vocal recording with a computer. The included loopback function and support for Open Broadcaster Software (OBS Studio), however, makes it also an excellent choice for podcast creation and live streaming. Last but not least, it is a perfect solution for feeding an amplifier system with music from a computer in high quality, for example for a birthday party.

The compact US-1x2HR incorporates a wealth of features, including high audio resolution up to 24-bit/192 kHz, ultra-low latency with a Windows buffer size starting at four samples, Ultra-HDDA mic preamplifiers with 48-volt phantom power for superior sound quality with ultra-low noise, a robust USB Type C connector, and a rich assortment of included software to start producing audio right away. The lightweight interface is ideal for mobile recording and production using an iPhone or iPad* with the included Cubasis LE so you can take it to your practice room, use it to report from a live event, or capture nature sounds outdoors.

All US-HR models offer a unique dye-cast aluminum honeycomb structure on the side panels with a slight upward tilt. This design not only results in a sleek, eye-catching design, it also provides just the right amount of weight so the interface won't move when cables are connected or disconnected. Equally important, the upward tilt offers the ergonomic benefit of being angled in such a way as to make the interface easy to work with.

A recording environment with low noise and great audio performance is a relevant factor for vocal and, in particular, wind instruments. The US-1x2HR features an Ultra-HDDA microphone preamplifier with a very low noise level that makes this interface the ideal tool for recording with a condenser microphone. You can also plug in your electric guitar or bass directly using the line/instrument input and use plug-in effects on your computer recording (DAW) software. Or connect any instrument or hi-fi amplifier's line output to the line input.

The US-1x2HR is also a great tool on the road: Combine it with an iPad and you can capture nature sounds, stream interviews from live events, or simply record your ideas with high quality wherever you go.

Even if you're not so familiar with recording equipment, the US-1x2HR's user-friendly design enables you to use it right away.

The US-1x2HR can improve your sound when playing music from your computer. No matter if you create your own dance music using software synths and other plug-ins or if you are the DJ on a birthday party - with its high audio quality and separate controls for headphones and line outputs (loudspeakers) the US-1x2HR easily turns your computer into a perfect-sounding playback device.

You may have noticed that your sound system is not very loud when powered directly from a computer. When using the US-1x2HR to feed your power amplifiers, its high line output level ensures you get the maximum power out of your sound system.

Instead of a computer, you can also use an iPad or iPhone together with the US-1x2HR to make music. Performance has been tested with not only the bundled digital audio workstation (Cubasis LE3), but also with other popular recording software - you can continue to use them even if you change DAW software.

The Settings Panel, which is installed on your computer, comes with a variety of functions. You can choose whether direct monitoring is done in mono or stereo and adjust the balance between input and computer signals. You can also switch the hardware inputs on and off individually and set the Windows buffer size according to your working environment.

For online broadcasting, Internet communication and other live streaming applications, the US-HR series interfaces offer a Loopback function which can merge input signals 1/2 with signals 1/2 coming from the computer (each can be set to mono or stereo) and send that mix to the broadcasting or other software on the computer. A software slider allows to adjust the final "broadcast" volume independently from the unit's line output level setting.

Tascam US-2x2HR High-Resolution 2-In/2-Out USB-C Audio & MIDI Interface
Cat: 798798 Rel: 12 Jan 21

High-resolution USB-C audio & MIDI interface
Notes: High-resolution sound at a low price thanks to Tascam's US-HR range, provided here in 2-in, 2-out format with integrated MIDI in and out. Simple, no-fuss solution for hooking up to your DAW.

Supplier's Notes:
High-Resolution USB Audio/MIDI Interface (2 in, 2 out)

The US-2x2HR is a member of the Tascam US-HR series of high-resolution USB audio interfaces. It provides two mic/line/instrument switchable inputs and two balanced line outputs as well as MIDI I/O to your Windows or Mac computer or your iPhone or iPad. This interface is ideal for music creation and home recording with high demands on simple operation and studio-quality sound. The included loopback function and support for Open Broadcaster Software (OBS Studio), however, makes it also an excellent choice for podcast creation and live streaming.

The compact US-2x2HR incorporates a wealth of features, including high audio resolution up to 24-bit/192 kHz, ultra-low latency with a Windows buffer size starting at four samples, Ultra-HDDA mic preamplifiers with 48-volt phantom power for superior sound quality with ultra-low noise, a robust USB Type C connector, and a rich assortment of included software to start producing audio right away. This interface can also be used for mobile production or live streaming using your iPhone or iPad with the included Cubasis LE. Simply put, the US-2x2HR helps you create and distribute great-sounding audio wherever you go.

If you're a musician, producer or home-recordist who needs a solid, uncluttered, easy-to-use audio interface with superb sound quality, the Tascam US-2x2HR can be your reliable partner for many years.

The Ultra-HDDA (High-Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamps used on the US-HR series feature a discrete construction. They have a higher number of components and are far away from mass-produced preamps. Their EIN (equivalent input noise) rating, which measures the absence of noise, is truly low for the US-2x2HR and US-4x4HR. Combined with a newly improved audio circuit and support for sampling rates up to 192 kHz, our in-house developed microphone preamplifier delivers enhanced audio performance with the most transparent and low-noise sound, reflected in a signal-to-noise ratio of 110 dB.

One issue when recording using a computer is latency, which is when audio signals are delayed through digital circuitry. Another is setting up the driver software that is used when connecting an audio interface to a computer. In order to eliminate these problems, our driver software introduces only very little latency and is easy to install. Furthermore, by making the external structure of these interfaces as simple as possible, the Tascam US-2x2HR and US-4x4HR allow users who are not expert users of audio equipment to operate them without concern.

Instead of a computer, you can also use an iPad or iPhone together with the US-2x2HR/US-4x4HR to make music. Performance has been tested with not only the bundled digital audio workstation (Cubasis LE3), but also with other popular recording software - you can continue to use them even if you change DAW software. Since these units include MIDI inputs and outputs, you can connect MIDI keyboards, drum computers etc. to play sounds on the iPad or computer and thus expand your personal orchestra.

This interface is ideal for multitrack recording of two instruments and two vocalists, for instance, or multi-media production with high demands on simple operation and studio-quality sound. The included loopback function and support for Open Broadcaster Software (OBS Studio), however, makes it also an excellent choice for two-channel podcast creation and live streaming.

The versatile US-4x4HR incorporates a wealth of features, including high audio resolution up to 24-bit/192 kHz, ultra-low latency with a Windows buffer size starting at four samples, Ultra-HDDA mic preamplifiers with 48-volt phantom power for superior sound quality with ultra-low noise, a robust USB Type C connector, and a rich assortment of included software to start producing stunning audio right away.

With four microphone preamps for multi-mic setups, four configurable balanced outputs, superb sound quality and easy operation, the US-4x4HR is the ideal choice for the demanding musician, producer or home-recordist requiring more than two audio channels.

The US-4x4HR has four Ultra-HDDA mic preamps. Since up to four condenser mics can be used at the same time, this interface is perfect for recording vocals and acoustical instruments simultaneously. You can also connect two guitars or a guitar and a bass while still having two mic inputs available for vocals.

The unit features four TRS jack outputs, so the individual signals can be output in parallel with the headphones stereo output - often done for multitrack recording. TIP: By using an audio interface to output the sound from a commercial synthesizer app, a richer sound can be achieved.
