Roy Of The Ravers - "These Streets Of Rage" (Myoptik remix) (7:07)
Review: Grab a controller, fire up your Sega Megadrive and prepare for some bare-knuckle dancing courtesy of sweat-soaked rave revivalists Lee Kelly and Roy of the Ravers. Kelly contributes 'Streets of Rage', a 16-bit shuffler full of '90s games console samples, moody chords and unfussy drums, and an accompanying dub that's far deeper, hazier and more hypnotic. In contrast, Roy of the Ravers reaches for the nastiest, wildest rave riffs imaginable on the pulsating 'Boss Man Mix' of 'These Streets of Rage', a hardcore influenced throb-job that's later turned into both a breakbeat heater (the early '90s style 'Crispy Jason' mix) and a woozy, immersive techno number (the 'Myoptik' remix).

Enya (Irish Wedding remix)
Roy Says Relax
The Good, The Bad, & The Acid
Review: Melchester's finest goal-scoring producer, Roy of the Ravers, has for a long time served up sneaky bootleg revisions of classic cuts in his distinctive, '90s-inspired style. For the most part, these have slipped out online, so it's nice to see him sticking out some of the most infamous on wax. He first delivers 'Cage', a gently jacking affair that makes the most of a raw, sharp, mind-altering electronic riff from what we think is a late '90s classic, before serving up a suitably silly (but borderline genius) breakbeat hardcore take on Enya favourite 'Orinoco Flow'. Over on the flip, he re-imagines Frankie Goes To Hollywood's biggest hit as a high-octane Euro-techno throb-job ('Roy Says Relax') and turns a Spaghetti Western soundtrack classic into a stuttering acid-electro beast. Brilliantly bonkers.

2-Oh-Techno (3:25)
Winthrope Acrid 2C (2-5s On The 303) (4:29)
Sunrise Acid (4:07)
Megajazz Acidhops (4:46)
Review: Winthorpe Electronics signs up Dublin musician and producer Daniel Jacobson aka ZOiD for his debut on the label. What a fine one it is too with a real creative freedom in the melodies and rich sense design bringing each of these curveball cuts to life. '2-Oh-Techno' is a loose mix of bumpy drums and smeared chords, zippy leads and pixelated melodies that shine bright. 'Winthrope Acrid 2C (2-5s On The 303)' is then a double-time and wonky workout with a collage of synth textures all intertwining. 'Sunrise Acid' is another unusual but effective techno cut with a happy heart and 'Megajazz Acidhops' is a final collision of synths and rhythms that leaves you wanting more.
