  1. Nefas (5:48)
  2. Evasion (5:04)
  3. Bapteme Du Mepris (4:46)
  4. Lagim (5:59)
Review: Dutch label Enfant Terrible welcome back Leroy Se Meurt after the Parisian pair's sold out last EP a year ago. Again this one comes with mad punk influences, abrasive sound design and spangled grooves that will tie clubs in knots. It is also rich with the same sense of urgency and immediacy that defines their famous live shows. Wild and in your face, there is the dark techno of "Nefas" and rave shock of "Evasion" next to strobe lit biker disco on "Bapteme Du Mepris" and slow motion debauchery on "Lagim".

  1. Razrushitelniy Krug (5:23)
  2. Winds Of May (4:06)
  3. Sgoraet (5:19)
  4. January Sun (4:53)
  5. Otvechai Za Slova (3:20)
  6. April (acapella) (6:11)
  7. Razrushitelniy Krug (instrumental) (6:43)
Review: 2MR is a curious label, indeed. For starters, its founders Mike Simonetti and Mike Sniper have released just about all sorts of electronic music on it. The second release by Russian artist Kedr Livanskiy is just as nutty as her debut, except that this time we have even more sound experiments to play with. Mixing up lo-fi techno through the likes of "Razrushitelniy Krug" or "Winds Of May", together with grainy shades of house on "January Sun", and even broken-down echoes of post-hardcore with "Otvechai Za Slova" the artist has managed to create a truly captivating record, and perhaps also one of the freshest and most daring pieces of music that we've heard since the turn of the new year. Warmly recommended.

Cat: NIMH 002. Rel: 16 Feb 15
  1. Smash
  2. Shallow Shadow
  3. Drain
  4. Passing Time
Review: As part of longstanding no wave duo Naked On The Vague, murky girl group Knitted Abyss and extraterrestrial drone project Half High, Lucy Phelan has been a critical force in the Sydney DIY scene for over 10 years. Under the solo veil of Lucy Cliche, she annihilates with these four wavey techno tracks that honour her noise and punk ethos. With pounding drum sequences, draining synths and emotionless vocals echoing Cosey Fanni Tutti, her dark dreams sabotage our calculations of modern dance while demonstrating how physicality and the ethereal can interact.

  9. Self Inflicted (5:22)
  10. Don't Worry (3:33)
Review: Leopoldo Rosa AKA Lerosa has been fighting against lazy categorization for years, offering up tracks that go way beyond the deep house sound he cultivated in the early years of his career. Those who still think he makes records like that should definitely check "Bucket Of Eggs", his long-awaited second album, because it's far more thrillingly wayward, off-kilter and alien-sounding than anything he's released before. It's rooted in house music - and twisted acid house, in particular - but also doffs a cap towards Rephlex style mutant electronica, turn-of-the-90s Bleep and Bass (the superbly weighty and spacey "Sheffield"), skewed electro ("Subterfuge") and even deep space electronica (killer closing cut "Don't Worry"). In a word: essential.

  9. At The Sea (5:51)
  10. Frick (5:01)
  11. Kabelwerks' Falss (1:55)
  12. Velostation Cargo (6:04)
Review: Irish imprint Appian Sounds is keeping schtumm about the identities of the two Spanish producers behind the Lost Epcot project. It's because they want us to listen with "fresh ears" and "without bias", which seems fair enough to us. Whoever produced it, "Aslant Sound" is a highly impressive debut. Musically, it's atmospheric and intergalactic in tone, with the mystery duo serving up tracks that touch on B12 style ambient techno, Pete Namlook-esque deep space soundscapes, early Autechre or Black Dog style IDM, bustling, Rephlex style "brain-dance" and ambidextrous, off-kilter electronica. The album's great strength, though, is its timeless feel. While many of the inspirations might be vintage, Lost Epcot's assured debut sounds like the future.
