Francesco Leali and Federico Maccherone burst onto the scene as Clockwork in 2011 with a bit of help from Hot Creations, but their sound has changed a lot since then. With Maccherone dedicating his time to his Somne project these days, we're glad they could all team up with fellow Italian Avatism once again as CW/A on "Words Unspoken Acts Undone" a collection of industrial strength aesthetics for their own Parachute Recordings imprint. Highlights include the body bashing broken beat of opener "Rapture", the jungle crossover mutation of "Conjunct/Empathy", the seething subterranean fury of "19-9241-75-13294" (perhaps a dead giveaway of their infatuation with Frozen Border; not a bad thing) and the Berghain style stomper that is "Acrimony". There's a quite a diverse selection of moods and textures on here, all of them rather greyscale and bleak. Highly recommended.
