Swiss producer Demetrio Giannice's second release on UK label Third Ear comes after the highly successful Talk EP in 2009 won him nothing but (well deserved) praise. His refined deep house and jazzy flair is once again showcased on the Slow EP, pulling us into Giannice's fine ear for depth. "November's" delicate piano keys sit against a backdrop of jazzy hats and rough drum patterns, setting the pace for the remainder of the EP. "Slow" has a fluttering, melodic spring in its step as bare percussion whistles throughout breezy hats making for an essential, pared down listening experience. The third and final track is the tribal and percussive "Deepness"; rapid and rising from beneath, hollow beats and syncopated streams tap themselves over warm and rich chords. It chews, spits and swallows through every avenue of deep house and proves why Third Ear chose to sign Mr. Giannice once again.
