If this is your first run-in with the elusive and somewhat mythical Desaccord Majeur then let's make a few things clear to kick off. 'Sunquake' is the latest addition to the oeuvre of a chap who has been making records since the mid-1980s, or rather he has been making 'sound movies' since the mid-1980s, first committing them to tape as that decade drew to a close. And he's feted among fans of underground and avant-garde electronica for that pioneering work.
'Sunquake' is a great way to get more familiar with the producer, as it comprises a selection of tunes from his back catalogue, and many of the tracks have never been available on vinyl before. Showcasing the intricate and delicate but unarguably powerful style that has won over fans including Vladimir Ivkovic, one of Europe's undisputed electronic tastemakers, it deserves a place in every collection.
