The first instalment in DJ Spinna's Refreaked series of hush-hush remixes saw him transform an old Janet Jackson classic into a bouncy, percussive and synth-laden deep house treat. This belated sequel, which lands 18-months after its predecessor, comes from a similar sonic place, with a classic modern soul/contemporary R&B vocal rise above a squelchy, synth-sporting groove that sounds like Dam Funk making deep house. The quality of Spinna's production, and the intricate nature of his musical arrangements (think melodies, counter melodies, partially obscured instrumentation and soaring, sunny lead lines) comes to the fore on the flipside instrumental version, which is more than worthy of club spins on its own.
