Upon initial thought, one might think that Dom Williams has been a product of the contemporary house and techno scene but, in reality, this couldn't be further from the truth. The German producer's first release came out all the way back in 2000, on his own Tokomak imprint, and he's released nothing but quality output ever since then. Not only has he released plenty of material for the excellent Styrax Records, but he's also founded two very important labels, the mighty Mojuba, and the quietly brilliant art.less imprint. He's clearly decided to resuscitate Tokomak in 2017, and "Resounded" is the perfect tune to kick some life back into the label, a relentless piece of techno gold that reminds us of Regis' early output; Mark Broom morphs the original into another blistering slice of industrial kinetics tailor-made for the dead of the night. "DDSTTM" is no less abrasive and, in fact, Dom Williams injects an added layer of funk into the groove's cold demeanor, but it's Shinedoe's remix that catapults this EP from excellent to unmissable. Rough, tough, and made for you to DANCE. Warmly recommended.
