Much credit should be given to deep house veteran Franck Roger, who continues to hit the heights fourteen years after making his debut. The Drift is the Frenchman's latest workout on the Home Invasion label he launched in 2013, and neatly touches on a variety of styles. There's a sweaty, bumpin', late night feel about opener "The Drift", which sits somewhere between Inner City era warehouse fare, the energetic darkness of Sound Factory era Vasquez, and Roger's own hazy deep house. "Why" is an altogether dustier, tracky affair, but retains the retro-futurist feel of the more forthright A-side, while "Bankal" sounds like a cross between vintage Chez Damier and Roger's frequently explored aquatic deep house sound.
