Denver based Gila is a producer who has been supported by Benji B on BBC Radio 1 from the outset of his solo career. First making waves as part of US rap group Gorgeous Children, he now debuts on Benji's Deviation label with a new six track EP. It has been stated that Benji's said support on Radio 1 first alerted XL Recordings to his intricate and abstract beat making: which is most certainly on show here. His 2016 debut EP titled Genkidama saw him score a support slot at Metro Boomin's sold out show at Koko in London and earmark him as one of the year's most exciting breakout acts. Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke and Hyperdub boss Kode 9 have had the pleasure of playing his tracks. A natural fit at Deviation, the Pick Six EP marks the best yet from Gila: a producer very much on the rise.
