It's been a long time between drinks for Toronto's most explicitly named band, a hardware loving, laptop-shunning four-piece that were once signed to XL Recordings/Young Turks. "Deleter" is not only their first studio set for four years, but also their first self-released album. They hit the ground running via a fine hybrid indie/electronic collaboration with Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor ("Luxe"), before working their way through loose-limbed analogue funk ("Deleters"), shoegaze-influenced wall-of-sound bliss ("Endless"), skewed electro-disco stompers (the Moroder-influenced "Moment") and the kind of jangling indie-dance numbers that should prove popular with fringe-sporting misfits the world over.
