One could argue that Joe, the enigmatic producer from London (we think!), has been partly responsible for Hessle Audio's continues success but, most importantly, for the label's off-kilter approach. This latter point has meant that Hessle Audio has never stuck too closely to one genre and, instead, appealed to the wider electronic gamut, from the bass-heads to the house-jockies. He's back with an impenetrable two-tracker coloured in lime green; "Tail Lift" dominates the A-side with a strong, full-bodied house groove that's been filtered with all sorts of jungle sounds and tribal influences while, on the flipside, "MPH" is Joe focussing on our pure experimentation - broken jungle breaks, oddball synth bleeps and classic piano house keys merge to create something truly unexpected. It's Joe. On Hessle.
