A solid set of house releases on some of the industry's most popular labels have catapulted Lee Curtiss into international recognition with their funk fuelled beats and deeper than deep vibes. Wolf + Lamb, Get Physical, Ghostly International and Supplements Facts are just some of the highly lauded labels to have snapped up Curtiss's productions thus far; as one quarter of Visonquest and a packed international gig schedule, things are looking mighty fly for Lee. "Candy", his latest release on Culprit, features Matt Tolfrey as collaborator and Martin Buttrich on remix duty. Sultry and captivating, "Candy" is modern yet bizarrely timeless with electro tinges and elegant underlying frequencies. Rising with rapid hi-hats and falling into the depths of bass, a continuous and contrasting journey is on show. Buttrich's remix tears the original apart, giving it an abstract interpretation; low slung and strewn with raw and industrial samples, its ear candy for the home listener.
