Detroit's Malik Alston has many different talents that include everything from singing and producing to DJing and performing poetry, He has serve dup many classic sounds before now and here finds himself on Mother Tongue with more of his raw and impassioned house grooves. First up is a Soul Power mix of 'In A Better Way' that pumps a warm house vibe, with spiritual vocals and expressive jazz keys. 'Promise Me Love' is another fine vocal performance that casts even more free of a house framework in favour of flowing jazz licks, and last of all is the achingly beautiful downtempo original version of 'In A Better Way.'
