Marcos Cabral's production renaissance under the cultured guidance of LIES boss Ron Morelli continues apace here with Capri Social a fine EP shaped addendum release to False Memories, the double LP issued on the label earlier this year. If you liked the rough round the edges approach of the archival material on that album, you'll want to check the three tracks here as Cabral burrows ever further into the crawlspace between house and techno. Spreading across the whole of the A Side, "Capri Social" is the track most people will immediately gravitate towards, the warbling melodies and loose kicks doused in a coat of static that grabs you immediately. It's trumped however by "Haitian Priest" which seemingly aligns on a similar psychedelic groove that label mate Jahiliyya Fields has found of late. Do check "Goetz" if you like some playful melodic fading in your booming techno.
