When he's not crafting dazzling electro-soul as VC-118A, Samuel van Dijk can be found exploring many-layered ambience as Multicast Dynamics - a project that's yielded five albums in the past five years. This one marks his sixth, again appearing on regular home Denovali and finding the project's sound moving towards spectral storytelling and spatial sound design. The reverb decays are vast throughout "Lost World", as distant rumbles loom around disembodied voices. In the foreground, microbead pulses scatter and ripple through the space, precisely shaped and unbound by rhythm unless intercepted by a delay feedback. There are occasional synth interjections, but the atmosphere is king here - all elements within simply play their part to shape it out.
