Context is everything when it comes to thinking about this live album from Neil Young. This was recorded in Hamburg in December 1989, just one month after the Berlin wall had fallen and Germany as a whole was facing a new reality. Playing a song like 'Rocking In The Free World' in that situation takes on a whole new meaning, and one Young was no doubt all too aware of, which is almost certainly why he decided to play it twice. This double-vinyl live album is loaded with Young classics, including the haunting 'The Needle And The Damage Done', 'After The Gold Rush' and 'Powderfinger'.
