Smart Bar resident Jason 'Olin' Garden steps up for the first release on Giegling's edit-focused sub label G-g---g. Interestingly, "From Iceland" is something of a spring-time treat, with the title track delivering a flowery blend of music box melodies, soft-touch house grooves, looped jazz bass and, most prominently, what sound like guitar samples from Steve Reich and Pat Metheny's "Electric Counterpoint". Flipside "People Fix" is a little more cinematic in tone, with Garden taking a Stylistics classic as his base to fuse a clavinet-driven deep house groove with the marimba stabs and stirring, stretched-out strings. Both cuts are superb, and arguably rank amongst the producer's strongest works to date.
