First heard on his excellent B2B mix CD with Mumdance, Tectonic boss Pinch does the right thing and brings "The Obsession" to the 12" format, replete with Shed remix. A killer combination of 808 drums and muffled grime stabs, "The Obsession" is a nice taster for anyone who is yet to hear Pinch B2B Mumdance, straddling the crawl space between techno, dubstep and UK club hybrids with a confidence one associates with the Bristol mainstay. The aforementioned remix from Shed goes deep on a vocal staccato tip, throwing throws sounds of the original into a sonic field that grumbles and pops like slowly flowing molten lava. Essential.
