Reconstructed: The Best Of DJ Shadow CD

Given his status as a trip-hop legend, it's perhaps little surprise to find Island honouring DJ Shadow with a two-disc 'best of' set. While his music has arguably lost his sparkle in recent years - as proved by the tracks here culled from last year's The Less You Know, The Better - he has been responsible for some timeless examples of the art of sampling over the years. Here, you can revisit many of these great moments, from "The Organ Donor" (here in freshly re-edited form) and "High Noon", to the '90s indie/trip-hop crossovers of his UNKLE project with James Lavelle (see "Rabbit in the Headlights" and "Lonely Soul"). For the heads, there's also a previously unreleased track, the smooth soul cut-up "Won't You Be".
