It would be fair to say that Revelation's sole album, 1981's "Love Affairs", is a sought-after rarity, with original vinyl copies regularly changing hands for four-figure sums. As this much-needed reissue proves, there's a good reason for that: it's superb. Rooted in disco but featuring nods to boogie, NYC 'no wave' and the band's native Nigerian dance music of the period, the set contains a string of killer club cuts including low-slung disco-funk delight "Feel The Music", piano-powered, lo-fi gem "Your Love", the Moog-smothered "Dance To The Disco" (think William Onyeabor, and you're close) and similarly squelchy opener "Love Affairs".
