Powerful, fuzzy and authentic... The good Rev Cleatus and his trusty troupe of Soul Saviours really should have been born 40 years ago. Their sound, their attitude and their recording techniques are all straight out of funk's oldest testament. And boy do they sound great for it. Both of these jams are taken from the recent album Soul Saviour Stew, a collection of cuts from their 2007 album 2lbs Of Funk In A 1lb Bag. Firing, furious and tighter than gnat's back door, the band's short-lived time together will forever be immortalised by releases like this.
