As debut releases go, this 12" from London label Void Space Records is quite the coup. If you were tuned into Swamp 81 mixes circa early 2011, you'll probably have found memories of the Riffs dubplate "Don't Leave Ur Girl Round Me" which lifted vocals liberally from "Badman", a track by US rapper Murs and splayed them over a rude production that fit perfectly into the hybrid styles developing at the time. This dub and the excellent "Tell A Trick" from the Bristol-based producer finally get their much-deserved airing on 12" and still sound perfectly poised to interrogate the dance now. A round of applause for Void Space!
