As any true Doctor Who fan will tell you, only one of the classic serials can go up against Genesis Of The Daleks, and it's The Caves Of Androzani. On the basis of this deluxe vinyl version of the serial's soundtrack, composed by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop's Roger Limb, it might also have the best score. Making extensive use of the Fairlight Computer Music Instrument and Yamaha DX7 synthesiser, the score on its own is a surprisingly dread-filled document of early 80s electronic music that go toe to toe with anything from Edward Artemiev's music for Tarkovsky's films.
