Dar Disku continue on their mission to flip Middle Eastern classics on their heads, fleshing out each song's potential for danceability. They achieve this by joyously rearranging the songs into nu-disco edits, and pressing the 5 total renditions to wax. This is their fifth volume. Amr Mahmoud, the main original composer of both songs ('Zawgy Al Azeez' and 'Yom Fil Kahera'), helms most of the remix responsibility, while Eternal Love and the Dar Disku label heads get busy on the tracks' alternate versions. This one came after then pair unearthed the songs from obscure Cairo 90s label Digitec Records, before inevitably tracking down Amr himself. Five minimal, charming bits of glossily reworked future funk; slinky!
