Three years in the making: Truth & Youngsta's long-awaited Shadow People project is finally upon us and it's worth the wait. A conceptually developed project based in a not-so-far-away dystopia, the sounds are sprung with an intense moody, foreboding aesthetic throughout. Here for the vinyl release we're treated to four of the many highlights; the steppy slithers, eastern vocals and anti-corruption messages of "Ricky", the cavernous deep-fog dubspace of "Awake Before You", the Mezzanine-level barbed soul of "Destroyed" (featuring Truth's longest-standing vocal collaborator Lelijveld) and the brutal deep machine breaths and fog horn feels of "Lemon Cake". And that's not even half the whole album. Time to step into the shadows.
