If there's one thing that Solar Skeleton should be remembered for is their perennially unquenched thirst for experimentation. The duo, who class themselves as protectors of the DIY aesthetic, have released countless albums since their debut back in 2008 - all of them deeply singular and different from one another. Here we find them on France's Monkey Tool imprint with two oddball pieces of arthouse music; "Mr Brown" kicks off the A-side of this devilish 7" with a crackling burst of samples, pleasingly sinister - and utterly deranged - organs, along with their voices giving off some form of new age poetry. On the B-side, the 'version mix' slams down some heavy snares and kick drums over a bed of noisy bass that's been directly distorted from the original cut. Go for something new...
