Three years on from the release of his first Live Jamz EP, Soulphiction delivers a second salvo of loose and sweaty, straight-to-tape workouts. Choose between the hazy chords, slipped drum machine rhythms and sampled spoken word vocals of "The Ingredients" (think Theo Parrish crossed with late night German deep house), the deliciously bass-heavy, gospel house stomp of "Blues Theory (Churchapella)" and "Hustler's Ball", a thrilling, pitched-up fusion of disco samples and the producer's own brilliantly programmed beats. This latter track is particularly celebratory, and we'd wager it goes down a storm in Soulphiction's live sets.
