We were rather impressed by Emil Sunesson's contribution to Lagaffe Tales recent multi-artist EP (Tale of Tales Vol. 2), so hopes are naturally high for this debut solo EP. Happily, there's much to admire throughout, from the loose jazz guitar samples, twinkling electronics and rolling deep house grooves of "Everything Changes", to the jazz-funk goes disco-house brilliance of "Pistachio Sour", which includes a thrillingly filter-heavy breakdown amongst its sizeable list of attractions. The latter track is pumped up further by Outplay Recordings' co-founder Daniel Leseman, whose loopy disco-house version somehow manages to retain the percussive looseness of Sunesson's original mix despite its bustling and booming ethos.
