Nico CabaNas and Vanessa Asbert, founders of the Spain-based Oraculo Records, have been instrumental in the re-popularisation of synthwave over the past 5 years. The label has given us nothing but good vibes thus far, and their own Synths Versus Me project has been at the centre of all of that, bringing back some neo-romantic delight into our lives. Akelarre is the duo's fifth studio LP, coming through with twelve powerful shots of synth-heavy machine works that are suitable both on and off the dancefloor. Tunes like "The Phone Call Interlude" offer a snapshot of techno, while others like "Solange" are built to drop the elector heat, and the likes of "Black Flowers" satisfy the un-general public's thirst for moody indieness.
