The Barking Dogs first appeared on Gomma back in 2010 on the excellent Italo! House! Now! compilation alongside their contemporaries Bottin, Ajello and Severino from Horse Meat Disco. The Milanese duo make a belated return to Munk's evergreen imprint with Mamarracho, an excellent EP of typically Gomma style not disco not house which features an excellent Kim Ann Foxman remix as well as an ode to everyone's least favourite social networking service. Proceedings commence with the title track, with brooding low gravity bass lines and menacing vocal intonations either side of a crisp, mid tempo warehouse worthy rhythmic snap. Hercules & Love Affair mainstay Foxman opts to switch the track up, giving it a hazy, narcotic early 90s house which strips down the percussion to let the analogue groove and crystalline keys hypnotise. Flipside, you get the elasticised brilliance of "LinkedIn" which snakes a rollercoaster analogue groove around sparse kicks with playful intent, whilst Altz goes all Maurice Fulton on his demented treatment of a remix.
