RECOMMENDED
A welcome addition to the all-too-brief back catalogue of The Sisters of Mercy, Leeds' New Wave Goth heroes that don't get anything like the references they should these days. Studio-wise, they only recorded three records in the ten years they were together - First and Last Always (1985), Floodland (1987), and Vision Thing (1990), and used a different line up for each.
For many that would be a recipe for disaster, and while The Sisters may never have achieved the commercial success many believe is indicative of a band's worth, as this collection of BBC recordings proves, their creative value remains huge even three decades on. Particularly interesting to fans as it precedes the arrival of their debut LP, it's a rare look into the formative years of a group that should never be forgotten.
