Following an exceptional EP on ESP earlier this year (and a crucial cameo on Codek with "Trigger Output"), long-standing deep groove scientist Toby Tobias makes his debut on vinyl only soul stable Resista with a double-sided celebration of glistening sunny-side Afrofunk. "Aouta Gabon" sparkles with highlife soul as layers of crisp guitars shimmer and lilt as a powerful vocals swoop and glide in and out of the mix. "House On The Hill" is a little more direct in its beat arrangement; awash with dreamy chords, infectious percussion and far-away vocals, it's yet another slice of house hypnosis from Mr TT.
