French diggers and weird disco specialists Macadam Mambo have looked eastwards for this 12", employing the renowned talents of crate diggers-turned producers Tokyo Matt (Otaku Soundsystem) and Mori Ra & Asn (Tokto Oyama Edit). The quartet of edits on show is superb, and delivers intoxicating, wide-eyed interpretations of thrillingly obscure cuts. Choose between the winding, synth-laden fusion brilliance of "Tour De Montreaux", the melodious synth work and glassy-eyed appeal of "The Passenger", and the chugging, Italo-goes-Balearic atmospherics of "Just Another Story". Best of all, though, is "I Had A Dream Of You", a sparse, melody-rich deep electro jam that sounds like it was written by Ryuichi Sakamoto.... on the moon.
