|2.||"Lambsgame" (Chopper Rescue version)|
|2.||"Cole Rabies Beats"|
Fresh from outings on Internasjonal and Terre des Pommes, Philip Lauer and Gerd Janson once again don their Tuff City Kids moniker for an EP on Permanent Vacation. This time round, they've got pal Victor Shan in tow. Both versions of lead cut "Lambsgame" are reminiscent of the latter's power-house stomper, "Chord Memories", for Running Back, with looped riffs riding Sound Factory era tribal house grooves. "Highlights" is notably deeper, woozier and more melodic, with alien synth motifs and synth strings floating over a glassy-eyed deep house groove. Arguably best of all, though, is the strangely titles "Cole Rabies Beats", a stripped-back jack-track version of the latter that makes great use of drum machine handclaps and spiraling electronics.
