The new Adelaide Soundworks label launches itself with an EP from Dallas producer and L.I.E.S. affiliate TX Connect. And with news of a ghetto house EP by DJ Ford Foster primed for their second release, Adelaide Soundworks looks to be a label we'll be hearing about for the right reasons in 2014. The 909 drum machine gets a solid work out in the title track, with placid Chicago house pads giving the subtly-jacking rhythmics of the piece a deep and funky groove, while the spacey synths and caustic bassline in "Trashed" are stung by a zinging 808 cymbal and flattened by crunchy drums. A hi-energy acid track "Hammock At Hurricane Hill" completes this strong debut from down under.
