Given the aquatic electro flex and references to the sea, it would be fair to say that 'mystery artist' Vessel In Distress is a big fan of Drexciya. While not all of the seven tracks showcased across this excellent mini album sound like tributes to the legendary Detroit crew, their influence can be heard throughout. Highlights come thick and fast, from the deep space pulse of opener "Chandra", and thrusting, body-popping onslaught of "Minimum", to the crystalline melodies, undulating bass and snappy 4/4 rhythms of "Plane". The man (or woman) of mystery also finds space for "Moshi Moshi", a cheeky electrofunk roller.
