West Coast Revival, as the name suggests, was a band of male soul vocalists from California. They put out just three singles and one album, West Coast Revival, in 1977, which is a breezy and heart-swelling collection of upbeat surf-funk gems. It is one of those that will cost you a pretty penny on the second-hand market if you can find a copy, and the sort of easy to listen to album that never grows old. The vocal harmonies are buttery sweet, the grooves and tight and smooth, and the overall sound is polished but never overly so.
