Memory Lane (8:35)
Sun Step (7:34)
Review: For whatever reason. Part 3 of this EP series from Bungle on Moscow's Okbron Records dropped before this one, Part 2. Either way the drum & bass veteran has won us over again with two of his signature laidback rollers. They come with nice synth sequences and silky smooth drum breaks that manage to be powerful but comforting, certainly on 'Memory Lane' which also has the hint of nostalgia you would expect. 'Sun Step' is more stripped back, with smeared chords and more frosty textures up top and low, booming bass down low. Both are high-quality cuts.

Cremation (5:35)
Lovely (4:50)
Eleusis (5:36)
Somebody Else (5:35)
Review: 10 years in, Spandangle continues to bring a high grade of jungle to wax for the real heads. On this twenty-second volume in the series, we're treated to a team-up from Huddersfield producer Duburban and the mysterious Galvatron, two die-hards who know how to bring the absolute ruffage to the plates. 'Cremation' is a proper sound clash destroyer with a ragga toasting sample to die for before the drop. Don't be fooled by 'Lovely', which sneaks in on some mellow intro business before collapsing into a mess of amen mashing brilliance. 'Eleusis' takes things in a more reliably mellow direction without losing that gritty sonic finish, and 'Somebody Else' goes in on the soul licks to stunning effect. A record of two halves, no doubt.

Future Dancefloor (6:20)
Nature (7:12)
Review: Super prolific Greekboy touches down on the recently launched Violet Nights with two ballistic beat adventures; 'Future Dancefloor' looks to the roots with some heavyweight breakbeat choppage driving away through the thick emotional pads while 'Nature' brings more of a house-inspired flavour with bulbous bass/kicks and a Need For Mirrors-like sense of techno in its drive and focus. The future is now.

Antio Zoi (TGRCCC) (3:40)
Xypna (2:58)
KodS0520 Fyllorroo (3:03)
Review: Brighton imprint Furthur Electronix continues full steam ahead with its prolific output this year, and it's a big week for them. Alongside a great EP by Aussie Lou Karsh, we have this new one by Greek producer George Kontogiannidis aka Pera Sta Ori, who has racked up some impressive releases thus far on Musar, Brokntoys and Yellow Machines. As on previous works, the Sick Apian EP further explores Kontogiannidis' love of classic UK rave sounds. For instance A side cut 'Antio Zoi (TGRCCC)' utilises pitch shifted hardcore breaks underpinned by a dystopian electro atmosphere. Over on the flip, its '95 all over again on the breakneck junglist stepper 'Xypna' followed by the complex and hypnotic riddims of 'KodS0520 Fyllorroo'.

Mi Mama Dic K No (7:08)
Run Mami Run (5:49)
Review: Fresh from his maximal debut album 'Unbearable Lightness', Colombian Rachiid Paralyzing returns to an older project that he's been incubating since 2018. Essentially the sound of him refining his signature and focus, both cuts are more functional than his more experimental stuff now but both still defy the usual tropes and typicalities of breakbeat music. 'Mi Mama Dic K No' subverts ideas of electro as shades of melody morph, mutate and overlap over growling bass while 'Run Miami Run' is an all-out acid/breaks riot jam. A very interesting release - especially if you're still recovering from the mind-exploding matter of his recent album. Run come get some.
