Review: It's time to do the Harlem Shuffle once more here and lock into the rhythms of Ray Martell. His 'She Caught The Train' is something of an early reggae classic that now makes its way onto 7" vinyl for the first time. It was originally released in 1970 on the Trojan sub-label Joe in the UK and then rose to fame once more as a cover version from UB40 in 1983. The original has been on a load of compilations but has never stood alone on wax. When it came first as a single it was backed with 'Tea House From Emperor Roscoe' by Dice The Boss but here the label adds a super rare Ray Martell song in the form of 'Cora'.

Review: Late last year in November marked the arrival of Theatre of the Absurd Presents C'est la Vie, a thirteenth studio album from much loved British ska collective Madness. It is their first new studio work in almost a decade and now it arrives on double vinyl. We're told that the record was written with the mantra 'Let Madness be Madness' and that shows with some real musical freedom and plenty of the quirky charms the band has always dealt in. It is uplifting yet melancholic in all the right places and another fine success for this Great British band.

Review: Catch A Fire, Bob Marley and The Wailers' seminal first release on Island Records, universally regarded as the album that put reggae music on the global stage, is being re-issued via UMe on November 3 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its original release in 1973. The album features nine songs, two of which were written by Peter Tosh and the rest by Marley. 'Slave Driver', one of the most powerful tracks on the album, will be released as a single, accompanied by remarkable live performance footage recently unearthed from the legendary Edmonton show in England in 1973.

Review: The voice of reggae that, if anything, seems to grow louder and more prominent with every passing year since his death, recorded this live album back in 1975. Bob Marley & the Wailers' Live! features the complete sets from both July 1975 shows they played in London at the Lyceum Theatre. The reissued version builds on the original reals which has just seven tunes from the second night by adding a further 15 to make it a complete document of the two memorable nights that were said to be so over subscribed some fans climbed onto the venue's roof to listen through an open hatch. The limited and numbered vinyl comes with a booklet with extra context.

Review: Regarded as "one of reggae's quietest superstars", Jackie Mittoo aka. "The Keyboard King" carved a remarkable path in reggae music. A protege of Sly Stone, he began his career as part of Studio One's in-house recording band, and later went on to work with artists such as Bob Marley, UB40, Barry White, Peter Tosh and Oscar Peterson. This album was the result of a rare occasion of being on tour in Africa and establishing musical connections with musicians from Ghana; it was recorded in Accra and mixed in London. Review: In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the groundbreaking self-titled album from GT Moore & The Reggae Guitars originally released on Charisma in 1974 is being reissued. This record, which bridged the gap between the 'Pub Rock' scene and the emerging sound of reggae music in the UK, arrived amidst the onset of "Reggae Fever." G.T. Moore, formerly of the legendary folk group Heron, emerged as the first white musician to authentically delve into reggae. The eponymous debut album from the Reggae Guitars featured session musician John 'Rabbit' alongside Tom Platt, who engineered the iconic 'Catch A Fire' album. With a mix of originals and covers, including tracks by Bob Dylan, Heptones, and Diana Ross, the album stands as a testament to the fusion of musical styles and influences during that era.
