It might look simple on the outside, but I assure you the inside is a matrix of years with development. The flexible multiband drive is smooth all the way thru it's range and I promise you it will never ever mess with your low end!

One knob FET compressor with fast attack and release. It handles dynamics with ease and creates a solid wall of tone.
Compression LED:
Visual indication of how hard the compressor is working.
Mid:
Mid filter to achieve the surgical studio tone! Create a defined, in the pocket frequency response for the bass to sound massive and to make it sit with other instruments. Your band mates will never beg you to turn down your bass again!
Mix:
Quickly set the tonal balance between low frequencies and high frequencies. Find the sweet spot in any situation.
Footswitch:
On/Off switch for Drive and Tone.
Red channel =Drive and Tone active.
Blue channel = Drive and Tone off.
Compression, Mid and Mix is active on both channels.
Drive:

Review: Raison d'etre is Peter Andersson and Troum is Stefan Knappe and Martin Gitschel and between them they take a deep dive into subterranean worlds on this collection of amenity works that was recorded between 2011 and 2014. This is the first time they have been pressed to wax and we're delighted about it - the grainy pads and crystalline synths that cut through the foggy mire sound so much better on wax. Each of these pieces is an ever shifting tapestry of icy noise, luminous drones and guitar-driven melodies with a ghostly quality. It's a devastatingly impactful work from these dark ambient maestros.

Review: Black Pattern is a Swiss label that launched last year, which is why it is titling this new EP 'First Anniversary.' It is chock full of full-throttle house jams that care about nothing but getting the floor sweating. Dexter Troy does that right off the bat with the epic piano house of 'Paradise' while Mathis Vuilleumier offers a more steamy, jazzy garage-house vibe that is no less effective with 'Sunday Night.' Aiden Dahlia taps into 90s organ vamps with his 'Showcase' and Stelvio brings some crisp cosmic tech on 'Shakin''. This is a fine way to celebrate a birthday if you ask us.

Review: Dynamic Reflection keeps up its impeccable run of form with a tasteful various artists EP featuring some innovative talents. Troy is first out of the blocks with the stripped-back and dubby techno energy of 'Yann' which locks you in with its loopy melodic riffs. Svarog & Ma-Gooch offers the much deeper and heady 'Spaces' with its groaning loops and super smooth linear drums. Luigi Tozzi follows a similarly economical path with the seductive bass and synth loops of the undulating and transcendental 'Haboob' which leaves Jonas Korbl to close out with 'Primal Grade.' Though still steeped in hi-fidelity sound design, this one hits harder with a more bulky low end and swinging bass.

Review: Composer, sound designer, musician, artist. Vienna-based Ulrich Troyer has a number of strings to his bow, all of which have played into a world-building process deeply rooted in dub and sound system culture. Releases on the likes of Deep Midi Musik are a good reference point for newcomers. Here, though, we're in less structured and formalised places, with two pieces - well, one and a bit - of abstraction waiting for you to get lost in. 'Track 1' certainly comes with the kind of low reverberations and effects that call to mind huge speaker stacks in smoke-filled places. But it's also kind of deconstructed journey, it harmonises distorted beats and rhythms with beautiful melodic motifs in a way that's as innovative and beguiling as it is instantly pleasing. Flip it to find something we won't even bother trying to define, a celebration of the remnants of that opening arrangement, perhaps.

Review: Erik Truffaz is a master of cinematic funk and jazz fusions sounds and now after the first entry, Roll, here comes a second part of his cinema stories series. He once again repeats the trick of subbing in his own images for those conjured up by the original soundtracks. Movie director Bruno Nuyten described the project thusly, "beyond the memories of the films that are mentioned, Erik Truffaz's interpretation opens the imagination to other films that have never been made". Review: Reissued in the aftermath of her passing away in 2023, Souvenirs is probably the best-known album by Ethiopian legend Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru, whose morphing from nun to composer, pianist and vocalist tracks an exquisitely bleak but powerful history. The first album to feature her own voice, the album was written and recorded at her family home in Addis Ababa, and deals in personal themes of loss, homesickness and transience, reflecting on Emahoy's experiences of the turmoil of the 1976 Red Terror in Ethiopia, in which the provisional Derg military dictatorship violently suppressed the rise of other competing revolutionary militia groups, and in so doing caused mass upheavals and migrations. With lyrics sung in Amharic and overlaid against uniquely mournful DIY instrumentations, Mississippi's CD reissue reminds us of its heart-warmer status, betraying Emahoy's deep familial fidelity and integrity.

Now, the Soundbath label has got together a first ever vinyl pressing and reissue of them which is sure to help them become classics all over again. That will certify be true of the one, Tsidi's 'Contagious' (Transcendal dub remix), which has everything required to become an anthem - the smooth female vocal, soft focus synths and subtle old school bass. Add in four other equally lush and romantic house sound and you have a real doozy.

Review: Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio. Japanese jazz legend Tsuyoshi Yamamoto has been busy with his trio for this new album A Shade Of Blue which comes on gatefold 180 gram vinyl via Evo Sound. The record is a reflection of his love of the classic piano trio. Such a setup was only first conceived in around the 1940s when jazz cat Nat King Cole first had the idea which was then further built on in the fifties by now well regarded innovators such as Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal and Bill Evans. Alongside bassist Hiroshi Kagawa and drummer Toshio Osumi, Yamamoto revels in great musical chemistry for this most sublime album.

Review: The no-nonsense Holic Trax crew have got two superbly assured artists together on one fine 12" here. Ibiza based talent Tucillo and Fat East magician Took Tamura both have already long since proven their credentials and here they draw on their vast reserves of creativity for a varied EP that opens with the pulsing minimal house of 'Golden Ring' before 'Salvadanaio' gets deeper and more dubby, with mysterious chords slowly hypnotising you. 'Stella' picks up the pace with fatter, fleshier drums and modulated synth texture and last of all is a breezy, super cool and smooth deep house cut 'Joint Soft' (Japanese Napolitan edit).
