Review: Bob Marley & The Chineke! Orchestra marked the 60th anniversary of Jamaican Independence with a special concert that showcased Marley's most famous songs all recorded with new instrumentation and orchestration. Trevor Nelson presented the project and he tapped up Skip Marley, an inheritor of his family's famous musical legacy and who made his debut UK performance for this concert which was recorded for this album on Island Records. British singer-songwriter JP Cooper plus Jamaican born and Birmingham based soul, gospel and R&B legend Ruby Turner also featured.

Review: Marking 60 years since the late singer's birth, I Can Only Be Me celebrates the striking talent of Eva Cassidy with an ambitious project. Christopher Willis and William Ross teamed up to compose new arrangements for some of Cassidy's best loved songs, which have been recorded by none other than the London Symphony Orchestra. 'Songbird' is the centrepiece of the project, which made use of new breakthroughs in AI technology to add new dimensions to Cassidy's performance in line with Willis and Ross' new compositions. It's a posthumous collaboration like no other, sure to delight fans who always dreamed of where else Cassidy's music might have taken her if she hadn't died so young.

Make My Funk The P-Funk (12:20)
Review: There's nothing quite like the experience of an authentic P-funk show. Given the fact their music always sounded like a raucous live jam even in the studio, George Clinton's assembled throng of Parliament Funkadelic visionaries were already hardwired to take it to the stage. There are plenty of essential eras for this most mighty of funk phenomena, and here's a recording from one such period in 1989. There's everything you could wish for from Clinton and his crew, with some of the greatest P-funk anthems slipping in alongside some deeper cuts, all delivered in that thrilling, anything-could-happen extended style that defines the live sound of this most vital of funky forces.

Crossing Over (PO remix) (5:15)
Review: Contemporary oddball dance pushers Exarde have been responsible for breaking many new artists of late, their latest being Mar.C, who professes a vampiric, gothic edge to his latest productions. Allegedly, Mar.C is part of a unique cabal of revellers who can see what others can't, with the liner notes of this EP mentioning "the dancing vampires you often see at parties"; of course, the artist is from Transylvania. Whether you hear vampirism in this collection of tracks or not, 'Tranceformative' is nonetheless a curious set of tunes, each of which get progressively weirder, culminating in the spine-tingling closing remix from P O.
