Welcome To The Jungle Volume 3: Sampler One
Cat: JC 042. Rel: 15 Dec 15

Drum And Bass
Sara Lugo - "Really Like You" (feat Protoje - Jamie Bostron remix) (5:15)
Sizzla - "I'm Living" (Ed Solo & Stickybuds remix) (5:33)
Review: Ahead of the Jungle Cake's third Welcome To The Jungle collection, Deekline drops two of the album's many heaters; Soulfire soulstress Sara Lugo gets the Jamie Bostron treatment as he retains the warm tones and emotional sentiments of the original while applying a slick rolling breakbeat. Looking for a heavier skanker? Flip for Ed Solo and Stickybuds' bass-flecked twist on the unavoidable Sizzla. Underpinned with a juicy bassline, Sizzla's urging lyrics and the dreamy melodica are both kept in check as we roll deeper into the dance. That's living alright.

Sow More Love
Cat: II 7031. Rel: 17 Oct 22

Roots/Lovers Rock
Sizzla - "Sow More Love" (3:47)
Glen Washington - "Liar Liar" (3:46)
Review: Here comes one of three new roots singles which are 7" only releases. They come from French label Irie Ites and call upon vocalists Turbulence, Spectacular, Fantan Mojah and Lutan Fyah, but first up are Sizzla and Glen Washington. The rhythms have been produced by Jericho and first off is Sizzla is the leggy 'Sow More Love.' It rides an archetypal drum line that undulates slowly with warm bass and has great mic work over the top that is all about positivity. On the reverse is the dub versions by Glen Washington, renamed 'Liar Liar' and with some gorgeous female backing vocals.

Speedy Love
Cat: A 714. Rel: 09 Jan 23

Dancehall/Ragga
Speedy Love (2:14)
Blow You Mind (version) (2:39)
Review: Strap in for this potent new 7" from Killa B which brings the energy across to fizzing new dancehall cuts. The a-side 'Speedy Love' sounds quite a bit like an early Missy Elliott production but reworked into a dance hall framework. The vocals are menacing and delivered with a snarling edge over snappy snares and hefty bass. On the flip is a version called 'Blow You Mind' that is only subtly tweaked - the vocals take on different characteristics but the rhythms remain punchy and compelling.

Murda Dem
Murda Dem (12" promo)
Cat: REJECT 001. Rel: 15 Jun 06

Drum And Bass
Murda Dem (original mix)
Murda Dem (Cooh remix)
Review: Many years after the creation of ragga jungle, the style has evolved into several sub-styles. The last years we have seen the newer drum n bass turn to the reggae foundations again. Here on this first release we present "Murda Dem" with Sizzla vocals. Using heavy bass-lines and hard beats, PsychoFreud & Sunjammer are blending the old ragga jungle style with the new drum n bass, while the flipside produced by Cooh is a rough and tough nu school drum n bass version. Two styles around the same vocals, this vinyl should be something for all drum n bass fans. Cooh is one of the big new names in the drum n bass scene, with several releases out on Tov, G2, Gain, Signal, Soundkraft, and Kuker Music. We are proud to present Coohs first ever ragga drum n bass track on Bass Rejects.
