A few years ago ZVEX Effects released the Candela Vibrophase, a candle-powered vibrato/phaser machined from solid brass and glass that used a mix of 1800s technology (a Sterling heat engine) and 60s/70s audio circuitry to create a lovely swirling effect. After numerous requests to put that sound into a guitar pedal, they came up with a way of dramatically broadening the spectrum of textures available using the original circuitry from the Candela.

It's presented to you here as the Vibrophase, a five-knob four-stage phaser that creates phase and vibrato nuances never heard before. Five knobs! Count 'em! Speed sweeps from maddeningly slow to puppy dog flippy, vibrato/phase sweeps from, erm, you'll figure that out, feedback sends the output back through the phaser again to raise intensity, and there are controls for the top end and bottom end of the sweep so you can completely tailor the sound to your song.

Comprehensive amp models

The G2X Four takes amp modelling to the next level. Carefully recreated emulations of classic amps are combined with speaker simulations using our new multi-layer IR technology. As a result, guitarists benefit from great sounds and always have the feeling of being on the "big stage", regardless of the environment.

Multi-layer IR

Each amp model is based on Zoom's innovative Multi-Layer IRs, which capture the sound characteristics as well as the feel of classic amps and speaker cabinets. These IRs have been miked at three volume levels through legendary cabinets and can be crossfaded and activated depending on the volume of your guitar.

Historical guitar sounds

Preloaded in the form of 250 presets, these patches were designed to document the sonic evolution of guitar sound. Each patch recreates the sound of a legendary song from the 1950s to the present day.

Brimming with effects

The internal patches include over 100 effects, recreating a wide range of traditional and boutique sounds, from classic spring reverbs to extreme distortion and modulation effects to wah-wah and more. Mix and match up to 7 effects to create your own patches.

Controls

Zoom's new cross-key navigation concept helps you control the pedal with just your feet and make adjustments on the fly. In addition, four endless knobs allow you to quickly adjust effect parameters as well as output settings.

Programming

The redesigned control surface makes it even easier to edit effect parameters, rearrange effect chains, and access the looper and tuner.

The Eris E5 2 way active 5.25" studio monitor from PreSonus delivers an accurate response with tight bass and a clear upper end. The Kevlar low frequency transducers, low-mass silk-dome tweeters and responsive Class AB amplification combine with acoustic-adjustment controls to create a versatile and adaptable listening system.

The E5 begins with a front-ported enclosure made of vinyl-laminated MDF. It features a 5.25" Kevlar low-frequency driver mated with a 45W, Class AB amplifier. For the highs, the Eris employs a 1" silk-dome tweeter powered by a 35W, Class AB amplifier. The E5 outputs a clean 102 dB peak SPL. Its frequency response is rated at 64Hz to 22kHz.

The Eris E5 provides a balanced XLR, a balanced 14" TRS, and an unbalanced RCA line-level input. Once you're plugged in, set the input gain and you're ready to go.

The Eris provides 3-EQ controls in its acoustic tuning section: high, mid, and low cutoff. These controls enable you to fine-tune the monitors to your space. The low control also is useful when using the E5 with a subwoofer.

The High control is a shelving filter that boosts or cuts all frequencies above 4.5kHz by as much as 6dB. The mid control is a mid-frequency peak filter that boosts or cuts frequencies centered at 1kHz and extending about one octave above and below that frequency. The low cutoff control rolls off frequencies below either 80 or 100Hz at a slope of 12dB/octave. This control is especially useful if you also have a connected subwoofer.

A 3-position acoustic space switch controls a second-order, low shelving filter that cuts frequencies below 800Hz by either 2 or 4dB to compensate for the boundary bass boost that occurs in close proximity to walls or corners.

The RF shielding protects against radio frequencies that could be introduced to the signal and become audible. The Eris monitors also provide overheat protection, current-output limiting and subsonic protection. The Soft startup amplifiers prevent damaging pops from sounding through the speakers when you power them up.

Simplicity first:

Gone are the screen, menu system, hidden settings, and the long list of somewhat redundant synthesis models.

Notes: Module A-143-1 is a complex envelope generator that consists of Attack/Decay generators. For the complex envelope generator the four units are daisy-chained, i.e. the preceding unit triggers the following unit. The four units can be used even as four separate AD generators (switch position AD) or AD-type LFOs (switch position).

Details: Module A-143-1 contains four separate attack/decay type envelope generators. Each unit can be switched into a free running mode (LFO mode). The LFO mode differs in several points from a regular LFO (like A-145, A-146 or A-147): The slopes are exponential - in contrast to linear slopes of a normal LFO, and the frequency is defined by both controls. The attack control defines the time of the rising slope, the decay control the falling slope.

Each unit has available a comparator that compares the AD output voltage with a manually adjustable threshold and switches the corresponding comparator output (Cp 1...4) to "high" as soon as the AD output voltage goes in the decay phase below this value. The comparator output is normalled to the trigger input of the next stage via the switching contact of the trigger input socket. Consequently the first unit triggers the second, the second triggers the third and so on.

Each AD generator is equipped with a Polarizer (look at the Voltage Controlled Polarizer A-133 concerning details about the polarizer function) and a mixer that adds up all polarizer outputs. This allows to add up all AD/LFO output signals inverting or non-inverting with adjustable level to the mix output. Additionally a single output (Env 1...4) is available for each unit.

If the trigger input of unit 1 is controlled by a normal gate signal (e.g. from a keyboard resp. MIDI-to-CV/Gate interface) one obtains a very complex envelope signal at the mix output. The signal contains 8 segments controlled by Attack 1, Decay 1, Attack 2, Decay 2, Attack 3, Decay 3, Attack 4 and Decay 4. The transition between the stages (i.e. when the following AD generator is triggered) is controlled by threshold knob. The positive or negative contribution of each unit to the mix signal is adjusted with the Mixing Polarizer control. If the trigger input of unit 1 is controlled by the comparator output of unit 4 one obtains a 8 stage LFO.

The single AD outputs can be used to control VCAs or VCFs that open one after another corresponding to the AD signals (a little bit similar to the Shepard generator A-191).

The default-connection between the four units (CPn = Trig.n+1) can be interrupted by patching cables into the trigger inputs. Consequently the four units can be used as separate AD generators or LFOs. In any case the mix signal is available (e.g. mix of four AD generators or LFOs with adjustable level and sign).

In the LFO mode the comparator output serves as LFO rectangle output with adjustable pulse width (= threshold control).

Each unit is equipped with a separate LED display for envelop and comparator output. The shortest attack/decay time is about 5 ms, the longest attack/decay times are about 3 seconds (attack) / 10 seconds (decay). By changing the value of a capacitor the shortest time can be modified (details can be found here: A100_Capacitors.htm).

The sketch at the bottom of the page shows the module principle with 4 daisy-chained AD units (as predetermined by the normalled sockets), that are mixed with the integrated polarizing mixer.

How:

"I", the inputs row is normalized from top to bottom.

An input inserted in the first socket will be copied unaltered to the next one.

If a jack is plugged in it will break the normalization.

"V" is for control voltages and they cascade the same way as the inputs following to natural decay of the vactrol response. All the LPGs can be opened simultaneously with a single CV source. Combining the features of both "I" and "V" rows you can control a signal with 8 different CVs or 8 different sources with the same CV.

"O" stands for outputs. They act as an active mixer letting you combine up to 8 signals. As in the previous two rows, the connection can be interrupted in any given point to create sub mixes or individual outputs.

Since Jolin are actively summing copies of the original input, each LPG stage will add saturation to the final out. Thanks to the open design path and normalizations this is just an additional feature: all the LPGs can still be used individually or in multiple combinations for multichannel effects or other creative application. More AGOGOs can be chained together thanks to headers on the back to multiplicate the number of inputs/outputs.

LYRA8-FX is a processor that can give you a significant part of the mysterious LYRA-8 sound thanks to the FX section from the LYRA-8, expanded with CV controls and packed into a Eurorack module.

It contains a double modulated lo-fi delay with cross-feedback and the unique possibility of self-modulation, where the delay output signal modulates its own sample rate. Also, it packs a parallel distortion with CV control of the drive. The distortion is after the delay. It's much more than a delay - you can get a simple reverb, comb filter, chorus and much more cool FXs which are hard to describe.

AG Controller software allows users to easily and precisely check and configure the DSP audio processing inside the AG. A fresh twist on a simple 303-style acid synth, featuring a triangle/sawtooth/square wave VCO, multi-mode resonant filter, simple AD envelope and a VCA which can be overdriven. Excellent value.

Supplier's Notes:
ADDAC started this module with the idea of developing a complex drum source however, somewhere along the process, it was clear how much better it performed as a synth voice and this lucky accident was embraced.

It features a VCO with a [FREQUENCY] and [FINE TUNE] knob plus a dedicated CV Input and Attenuator knob (tunable over 4 octaves).

The VCO waveform output is achieved by selecting either a Triangle or Saw through a switch. the selected waveform can then be mixed/balanced against the square wave. The resulting mix is then sent to the Filter.

The Filter features a [CUTOFF] and [RESO] resonance knob plus a Cutoff CV Input and Attenuverter knob.

A 3 position switch is used to select the filter type: Highpass, Bandpass or Lowpass.

The resulting output is then sent to the VCA.

The VCA features an Input with [INPUT GAIN] knob which at maximum can amplify the incoming signal by a factor of 2.

This is a very important control, it accepts any signal Trigger, Gate or CV. Whatever input is plugged in the signal is then fed through an AD with a very short attack and controllable decay through the [VCA DECAY] knob plus the CV Input and Attenuverter knob. The resulting slewed signal is then used to control the VCA gain.

This signal is also sent to the CV OUTPUT as well as the LED monitor.

The Accent input adds to the Input signal creating a different amplitude output.


The CV OUTPUT is normalled to the Frequency and Cutoff inputs.

The [INPUT GAIN] knob

Usually Attack/Decay envelopes have a maximum voltage of +5v, no matter if the input gate is +5v or above the AD will clip at +5v. In this case, this clipping method was not used, and instead ADDAC allowed the incoming voltage to determine the maximum AD voltage, meaning that if a +5v gate is present then the AD maximum voltage will be +5v but if a gate of +10v is sent then the AD maximum voltage will be +10v.
This also means that with higher input voltages the decay, although falling at the same speed, will be longer than with lower voltages as it has a longer range to go back to 0v.

As previously mentioned, The [INPUT GAIN] knob can amplify the incoming input by a factor of 2, allowing to use a standard +5v gate or envelope and being able to make the resultant AD go up to +10v.

The AD signal is responsible for opening the VCA. Up to +5v the VCA will open to unity gain above this value the VCA will start to amplify and eventually saturate and distort. This saturation will add harmonics to the signal which will change its gentle timbrical nature to a more unique and peculiar timbre that will make the module shine in Acid contexts.

Adding high levels of Resonance or even filter self oscillation in combination with high VCA saturation will create even more harmonics that ADDAC highly encourage the user to explore.

Notes: Two independant Contour Envelope Generators in a single 12hp wide Eurorack module. These are very accurate replicas of the Model D contour generators, with identical circuitry and component values running on the correct +9.3V and -10v supply voltages of the original; so they exactly replicate the original envelope response along with all of it eccentricities. Extra features include manual trigger buttons and envelope status LED's

The contour generators played a larger part in the sound of the Model D than many people realise. There are two factors that make them unique, firstly the exponential slope when is used in conjunction with the (near) linear slope of the original VCA which is responsible for the famous Model D "punch". Secondly, the re-trigger behaviour is quite unique, multiple retriggering increases the output level so that either the volume increases incrementally or the filter opens incrementally with each extra key press.

We have added independant Decay switches for each individual Contour Generator rather than the shared switch on the original synthesiser, these switches change the Contour response from AD (switch up) to ADSD mode (switch down).

BD-Z is a versatile kick drum module for Eurorack system focus, to design a wide range of bass drum percussive sounds.

The implementation of thru-zero FM/PM BD-Z can deliver an immense variety of textures and harmonics, it has an amount of control of the modulation, input to preserve the primary kick drum sound or not.

When applying amplitude modulation with an external signal it can add more harmonics from the modulation source to be able to shape the sound, transform and morph it into many other drums sounds like bongos, congas, etc.

Great care has been taken to make sure the signal gain is always punchy, so that when the amplitude decay or the distortion is fully open it won't get out of control.

The distortion can be subtle or aggressiv - it has a dedicated accent like the vintage style drum machines to add dynamics to the rhythms.

The module also features two amplitude envelopes out to control other utilities with the the shape of the signal.

BD-Z is a powerful kick drum module with many modulation possibilities.

Peradam is a distortion module with an internal sidechain, it's a compressors twisted brother. The input signal is split up, with one half going into a VCA, and the other half going into a sidechain rollercoaster.

First its phase is modulated, before a full ring modulation, creating a signal at twice the frequency. This signal then modulates the amplitude of the original, creating complex self distortions.

That output goes into a dual band drive circuit, similar to the one found in Cosmix. before entering the soft clipper output stage. Things get really wild when you start feedbacking this output back into the input.

The module even goes into self oscillation at high feedback levels, producing all sorts of crazy sounds. Modulating all these parameters gives a broad palette of distortions, from subtle saturation to complete destruction.

The signal path is very clean, because the distortion is achieved with a sidechain, instead of just driving up the gain. A blend control allows you to further dial in your tones.

This mangled, filter-sweeping, abruptly overdriving pedal is designed to respond to your playing. It syncs its wave-thumping movement with the force at which you play. It multiplies dynamics into a hyper-exaggerated frenzy. It adds just the right amount of movement to punch through the mix and it reacts to an external trigger of your choosing to follow your tempo. Six selectable frequency ranges mean you're always gonna have just the right quack and oomph for whatever's plugged in! The sounds are wild, the thump is thick, and the animation is deep.

Controls

Input: Plug an instrument in to this jack.
Trig: Plug another instrument in to this jack and use it to trigger the filter sweep.
Out: Connect this to the amplifier.
Sensitivity: Determines the point at which the filter engages and the frequency range of the filter shift in relation to the input amplitude.
Intensity: Simultaneously blends in the resonance, amount, and grit of the filter.
Vol: Adjusts the output volume of the DEEP ANIMATION.
Frequency Selector: Selects the frequency range of the filter.
Bypass: True bypass the effect.
Up / Down: Controls the polarity of the filter decay once triggered. UP sweeps the frequency from higher frequencies to lower ones and DOWN, the opposite.
Additional Features: There is a subtle light to indicate the external trigger behind the main bypass LED.

In 1999, spectrographs picked up an unexplained sound emanating from dark ocean depths. The source of the sound was untraceable. While most scientists attributed it to an iceberg dragging the ocean floor, some sceptics began to understand the true source of the sound. Julia, the water demigoddess. Crying from the deep in a chorus of melancholy hymns, she remains to be uncaught but the pursuit for her is unceasing. The Qun mk2 is a powerful and unique pocket synthesizer with sequencer and looper.

Normally, cheap synthesizers don't have full flexibility because of hardware limitations.

Nunomo had in mind a small synth that has full flexibility of the real synth with an affordable price tag- and Qun mk1 was the synth.

The Mk2 receives a big improvement from the mk1 by adding LED buttons and external processor for UI processing- SD card support is added.

Once you get used to it, it will be so powerful and it will provide tons of flexibility. It is a real synth, not a preset machine.

If you are looking for a pocket music sketch tool, this is it.

Notes: Flexible ADSR envelope with voltage control of decay and release times. Interesting hold and repeat functions turn the envelope into a LFO with gating functions. Classic ADSR type envelope generator. Decay and release times can be voltage controlled via a common input for positive CVs between 0 and 10V. Time ranges of the segments: Attack: 0,5mS to 10S; Decay: 2,5mS to 20S; Release: 2,5mS to 20S.

Two switches affect the behaviour of the RS-60 in different ways:

- STD/STD: Normal ADSR mode. A gate triggers and holds the envelope up to the release phase.

- HOLD/STD: hold will hold the envelope at sustain level. Signals in the gate input have no effect. A signal at the Trig/Retrig-In restarts the AD phase and keeps the envelope at sustain level until the next trigger.

- ONESHOT/STD: Press the swithc into oneshot position and you´ll fire the envelope once. trigger signals at the Trig-Retrig-In will restart th envelope only when oneshot switch is pressed.

- HOLD / GATED REPEAT and HOLD / AUTO REPEAT have the same effect. Attack and decay phases will be repeated and the module acts as a LFO. Rate is dependent on the A/D times and range from 0.003Hz to 300Hz. A gate at the Trig-Retrig-In holds the signal at 10V, without gate the LFO continues cycling.

- STD / GATED REPEAT: The envelope will onbly be looped when a gate signal is present at the Gate-Trig-in

- STD / AUTO REPEAT: A gate at the Trig-Retrig-In holds the signal at 10V, without gate the LFO continues cycling.

- ONE SHOT / GATED REPEAT and ONE SHOT / AUTO REPEAT have the same effect. The oneshot switch generates a gate and fires the envelope. A gate at the Gate-Trig-in will hold the envelope at 10V, without gate the envelope will be looped. The envelope signal is present at two outputs A and B and it´s level can be controlled and inverted with a potentiometer.

Notes: Nano Rand v2 is a reissue of the classic micro random module. It features a sample and hold, noise source, and random voltage generator in 4HP. It takes inspiration from and improves upon the analogue concept of a random voltage module; moving forward in leaps and bounds into the digital domain.

At its core is an 8 bit microcontroller which allows for an extremely versatile, and more importantly, musical type of random. The 30ms offers altered and detuned effects like a chorus pedal might sound, only without the regularity of a LFO oscillator in Dimension Mode. In this mode you have the ability to create up to two different voices for a stereo double tracked field. The user controls the tuning and delay for results that are stunning mono or, through two amplifiers, sublime stereo. Abbey Mode offers something more similar to a conventional chorus in that it simulates synched tape decks running in parallel with varying tape speeds. Stereo or mono, this mode gives players a wide, lush sound without sounding like a conventional chorus pedal. Lastly, the team at Keeley created a unique Slapback Mode for rockabilly sounds. The Slapback is now a double tracked echo with the two altered voices. Add the Keeley Abbey Verb to this mode to create stunning, new effects.

In Stereo Double Tracker Pro Mode, the unit drops the reverb channel in favor of complete control over the double tracked voices. Each of the two voices can be tuned up to 30 cents sharp or flat. Review: Steely Dan are the kind of band where everyone has their favourite album, with a fanbase who might well get a little heated debating which phase of the band is superior. But when it comes down to it, everyone will agree Aja is their masterpiece, where that exacting studio process and the elevated songwriting hit some magical sweet spot that yielded the semi-mythical perfect album. The grooves are so slinky as 'Black Cow' opens the record up, they spring with joy out of 'Peg' and they lock down heavy on 'Josie', and there's so much more in between. This faithful reproduction from Analogue Productions is a limited audiophile edition for a band who were made for audiophiles.
