The incoming signal amplitude is controlled by a [GAIN] attenuverter circuit allowing to attenuate the signal as well as invert its phase.

It receives MIDI CC messages and turns them into expression outputs, allowing players to unlock MIDI control over their expression-enabled devices.

Where once there was only a foot, now there is envelope control, LFO control, snapping to preset positions: any MIDI shape can express an OBNE (or similar) device.

Language is hard: let's start at the start. Communication is complex, beautiful a real thorn in our sides. Many languages, dialects, standards. Some similar, some vastly different. A linear sweep, a barrage of Bits.

Music, of course, is meant to be the universal language, but Old Blood Noise Endeavors' devices don't see it that way.

The MIDI To Expression Translator (MTET) does exactly what it says on the tin. It receives MIDI messages from external MIDI devices and uses those MIDI messages to create four separate Expression outputs for use with external expression enabled devices.

MTET uses a 50k digital pot, wired for TRS connection with the tip active (connected to the wiper). It is assumed the external expression-enabled unit will apply to the sleeve and reference voltage to the ring. It is configured to communicate with other devices using this standard. Its primary purpose is to interface with Old Blood Noise Endeavors pedals and serve as a communicator between them and a MIDI controller. However, it will work with many other units that use the same expression setup as OBNE.

Using standard eurorack cables, easily patch signals from a NANOPATCH M through effects connected to a NANOPATCH X (and back again).

How It Works

Rear sockets labelled 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 can be used for either mono or stereo signals. For example, if a TRS cable is plugged into rear socket 1/2, the left and right channels will break out to sockets 1 and 2 on the top panel. If another cable is plugged into rear socket 2, rear sockets 1 and 2 will correspond to sockets 1 and 2 on the top panel, both in mono.

Normalling

Channels 1-4 can be full-normalled to channels 5-8 using DIP switches located on the side of the NANOPATCH M.

This allows a signal to pass through from instrument to mixer without the need for any patching. When a patch cable is inserted into either socket of a normalled pair, the connection is broken, allowing for custom routing of the signal.

Typical Setup

A typical setup would be to have four instruments connected to channels 1-4 and four mixer channels connected to channels 5-8.

Connections to the mixer could either be made with four separate mono cables (utilizing the sockets on the side) or with two insert cables (as in the diagram).

Technical notes:

Notes: YYS is a super useful spin on the 4x2 matrix mixer. Instead of comparatively boring unipolar attenuators to send to the destination channels, attenuverters were used. This allows combinations of DC signals that can cancel each other out to make interesting new waveforms, and with audio signals can cause strange stereo cancellations. dsp.coffee also included inverted outputs and bipolar LEDs as a bonus.

How:

Plug a cable in one of the sockets and the other end specularly on the opposite side. Check if the blue LEDs light up steady in a number equal to the cores of the cable you are testing. Wiggle the wire back and forth just to be sure that all the individual cores are firmly connected.

Due to its configuration, the connection is considered true only if there is no continuity between the adjacent wires or discontinuity in that specific core. This smart feature will avoid false positives.

On top there are two LEDs indicators directly wired to the power lines to check if the -12V or +12V PSU power lines are misbehaving.

Notes: These Black Valchromat end cheeks for the Isla Instruments S2400 Sampler have been precision machined from HDF Valchromat.

They are a direct replacement for the aluminium ones and come supplied with new screws and have been oiled for a satin finish.

These give your sampler that blacked out look, these are also available in Solid Oak.

Notes: The 'Stereo Sum' is a unity gain summing mixer that features four stereo input pairs summed as pairs to two independent mix outs or all as a single combined mix. It is a useful utility for efficiently combining outputs of multiple stereo sources, such as the MEGA-TANG and Jumble Henge mixers or multiple MFX returns. The inputs accept stereo or mono signals (via normalisation) which can be audio or CV (module is DC coupled) and the top mixer's outputs are normalised to the bottom mixer section meaning if the upper output is left unpatched the two upper inputs will be added to the lower output.

Notes: Drawing inspiration from the MMI Maxima, the MMI Helios is intended as a middle ground between the gestural control surface of the Maxima and the fingertip control of the smaller MMI.

Less density, but a much higher degree of patch control is the key point of the Helios, which complements other MMI devices very well, and can be joined with other Helios (Helii?) to form larger and creative control surfaces.

The design is greatly simplified compared to the original MMI, with only two I/O jacks - either can function as input and output, and their interaction with each other is determined by touching both plates simultaneously to form a connection, or in cooperation with other MMI devices.

Available in a "right" and "left" version - one is an exact mirror image of the other, which makes it suitable for having two units adjacent to one another.

Notes: The Herzlich Man Machine Interface - a beloved instrument, but what if there was even more of it? An MMI with more than one dimension? An MMI arranged in a manner of... matrix?

With operation identical to it's little brother, the MMI Matrix allows the user to patch inputs to outputs by connecting zig-zagged patterns together with fingers, fruits, cables, pizza slices or any other conductive source. The labyrinth patterns will immediately connect the zig-zags immediately adjacent, whether above and below, or on each side. Furthermore, the two labyrinths within labyrinths will connect ALL adjacent inputs and outputs, which may lead to beautiful disasters or otherworldly insights.

As with its predecessor, the MMI Matrix is fully touch and pressure sensitive, reacting to the amount of pressure exerted, the amount of skin connecting, and the resistive quality of your body. Incredibly easy to perform with, the MMI Matrix offers new and far more advanced ways to patch your performances, whether CV, triggers or audio signals. Create reverb swells that vary between different types of reverb, use multiple fingers and labyrinth patterns to mix trigger signals into complex polyrhythms or create beautiful chords by combining various pitch inputs with a chord oscillator. The MMI Matrix also integrates very well with it's little brother, so there is absolutely no need to hold back!

Oh, and as always, it uses NO power! But it will take up 10hp of space in your system. A fair deal!

Notes: The Om is a slim, passive 2hp LPG with characterful resonance. Taking notes from its bigger brother, the Omen, the Om offers similarly beautiful resonant LPG action in half the size and skiff-friendly depth.

In a convergence of old-school LPG design and more modern components, the Om boasts a single -6dB resonant filter, custom hand-built vactrol and no less than three cutoff modes designed to inspire your next sounds.

Although the little brother of the Omen, the Om brings a distinct sound to the table. Do not mistake the Om for an Omen sawn in half, as they will both provide musically interesting and useful sounds to your setup.

Exactly as with the Omen, care has been taken to create a circuit with near-zero audio bleed and the best possible characteristics for a passive LPG. Of course, many of the natural features of vactrols remain, such as subtle memory effect when engaging the vactrol for long periods.

Finally, you receive maximum blinkenlights as an LED on the front panel simulates the action of the vactrol, so you'll always know what's going on under the hood. No collection of fancy LPG's is complete without the Om(en)!

Notes: You want less sound, and you want it fast. You want a mute that doesn't take up any power, a mute that doesn't take up a lot of space, and a mute that accepts three signals. You want a mute that's nice and clicky, and a mute that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Notes: In recent years, stereo signal paths have increasingly found their way into the wonderful world of Eurorack synthesis - so naturally, utilities should follow suit. Introducing the Herzlich PSA, a simple solution to a problem you might not even realize you had. Far from just useful as an attenuator for audio sources in mixdowns, the PSA can also be used to bring audio down to more managable levels (such as line level), attenuate multiple signals simultaneously (like increasing the modulation depth of two LFO's at the same time! It's like having two hands, but with one hand!) and even function as a multiple: Attenuator 1 is normalled to Attenuator 2, so multing your stereo signal (or two mono signals) while attenuating the two signals individually is easy as pie.

There's not much else to say, except that it's passive, and draws no power - and it looks great!

Notes: Expanding on Electro Harmonix's first homage to the tone that launched a thousand riffs, the EHX Satisfaction Plus delivers a wide palette of tones from classic '60s snarl to creamy lead tone to thick, earth-shaking sludge!

Where the original Satisfaction Fuzz circuit was a focused tribute, the Satisfaction Plus Fuzz treats the classic tone to a modern control set that includes a FAT/NORM mode switch, Bias control, and Tone knob. The added FAT mode features a tone that is bigger and warmer than the NORM mode for woolly leads and giant wall-of-thunder riffs. The Tone control is an active tilt-shift EQ that inversely controls both the treble and bass of the fuzz for broad tonal shifting. Notes: The classic ADSR envelope with CV control for all parameters

The ADSR module offers the classic four-stage envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) that is not only loopable (patch the end output into gate input) but also accepts CV control over each of the stages! For the time values (A, D, R) the value set by the knob can be increased to five times the duration by the corresponding CV value. For the Sustain value the knob and CV value are simply added.

Notes: The CVADDER-HQ is a precision adder especially for adding 1V/octave (pitch-controlling) CVs. This makes it possible e.g. to transpose a sequence. Compared to general purpose CV mixers (like POLAMIX), this module does the summing of the CVs very precise (within a few millivolts), so the desired pitch is not affected.

The module offers four CV inputs where three of them are summed, and the CV at the fourth input is subtracted - meaning "transposition downwards".

This module also allows transposing the incoming CV by one or two octaves or a variable offset by buttons.

A separate output provides the voltage of the internal transposition (+1, +2 octaves / free).

If the transposition buttons are not necessary and you prefer to have a dual precision adder, take a look at the 2CVADD-HQ module.

Notes: LED Meter is a handy utility module designed to show audio levels. Three color versions are available:

- green colour with yellow-red peak segments.
- all blue colour
- all yellow colour

There are total 30 led segments, each one roughly corresponds to 1 dB of level, so it is 30 dB of measurement level available with this module.
The module has an input for the signal to be displayed, and its buffered copy is sent to the output for further processing, so no external splitter is needed.
Two trimmers are accessible via holes on the front panel: left trimmer adjusts brightness and right trimmer is used for the level adjustment. So the module can represent full scale signals ranging from 1 V to 12 V.
There is operation mode jumper on the back side. When the jumper is installed - bipolar operation is active, and when the jumper is removed - ordinary audio meter is active.

It's an Effects Chain Loop with Dry/Wet mix control, Signal Attenuator and Boost as well as Expression to CV (Control Voltage) converter, all in one easy to use package suitable for string instruments or synthesizers and is also Eurorack compatible.

PSYCLOP is not your average Effects Loop Mixer. Capable of managing any type of signal from instruments or effects pedals, PSYCLOP seamlessly blends them with its parallel effects loop.

Its features include Input Attenuation of up to -20 dB and an Output Gain Boost of up to +20 dB in order to match any signals. For unity gain, simply set the Input Attenuation Amount to 100% with the IN control and using the OUT knob, adjust the Output Gain Level to 0%.

To avoid phase cancellation issues between the dry and wet signal paths, the PSYCLOP also features a simple but effective Effects Loop Phase switch, which is easily accessible on the pedal's side.

Additionally, PSYCLOP is capable of converting TRS Expression signals to CV and makes them usable with most Eurorack gear, making it a perfect device for synth fans and sound design enthusiasts. The pedal's EXP knob attenuates the CV output. When nothing is connected to its CV IN jack, the CV OUT jack will output 0-5V depending on this knobs' setting and a connected EXP pedal's position.

So all you have to do is plug in and embark on your next thrilling sound design adventure.

Notes: Need an offset voltage? Of course you do, you probably need one all the time, and you can never seem to find one. Well, here's two.

Yes, the Stereo Offset boasts not one but TWO linked offset voltages, and even better, they can be independently set as unipolar or bipolar with jumpers on the back of the module. To further aid your adventure in offsetting, bicolor LEDs will indicate the current state of both outputs.

Smoothly transition between voltages to simultaneously control other functions in your system, either by applying identical voltages to two different places, or by using simultaneous unipolar and bipolar signals for advanced control over your Eurorack system.

Do the right thing - get an offset generator you will love.
