Review: Poker Flat proudly welcomes Raudive (aka Oliver Ho) with his amazing "Zeitgeist EP"! Oliver Ho has been one of the most creative producers on the electronic circuit for more than ten years now. He has been exploring techno and house in their many different styles. Since 2006 Oliver has been releasing as Raudive focusing more on the dancefloor, but incorporating his explorations of dark and experimental electronic music. The result is a still dark with an amazingly hypnotic blend of techy house-music that always comes paired with a funky attitude. "Zeitgeist" is a dark manic and hypnotic, but irresistibly funky track, that will fully unfold his magic on the dancefloor.

Review: After recently releasing a teaser EP for Werkschau, the full album is finally here and ready to roll. German producer and Dj Landsky has been through many different styles in his time, but today he's a firm favourite on the Poker Flat label, and this album acts as a compilation of all his best work so far.
Probably his most well-known tune, 1000 Miles, gets an overhaul, appearing here as 2000 Miles. It becomes a more pacey affair with more punch in the bottom end, and more squelchy synths on top, altogether bigger than the original. Elsewhere his mix of Detroit Grand Pubah's Surrender is a real winner, layering the laconic spoken-word acapella over some deep and beautiful minimal grooves. There's more funky action on his mix of SoopaFi's Talkin' Large, as well as some fresh percussion on the dubiously titled Mission Upskirt. But mostly though, Lansky lays on superior deep techno by the pound on Werkschau. FM Safari is a hypnotic and brain-melting delight, while Monitor One is a shape-shifting essential which could work in any number of dj sets.
Well worth getting up to date with Martin Lansky's work so far.

Review: British producer James Dexter has appeared on a who's who of labels in recent times, here's the roll call: MadTech, Elrow, Holic Trax, Little Helpers.. Large Music.. need we say more? Appearing for Steve Bug's Poker Flat here with "Voices" a slinky and tripped out tech house cut that's just as suited to the mood lighting of a warm up set as it is for the after hours. "Point Blank" shows the young producer's knack for perfecting smooth and sultry deep house with dubby elements for added measure. Finally, on the flip we've got the dusty late night jam "Area 51" featuring layers of rich and hypnotic pads and getting some hazy vibes happening over its rusty drum patterns.

Review: Guido Schneider returns with a stunning EP on Poker Flat! Guido has been quite busy this year with recording the album and touring the world with his hypnotizing DJ set and his amazing live-set, with the highlight being his residency at Ibiza's famous DC10 club. The new EP is another proof of Guido's great production skills and brings two excellent tracks which explore his signature sound even further. The title track "Transmission" is an (almost) pure rhythmic and percussive affair, showcasing a vast array of drums: from congas to bongos to sticks and shakers. He builds a hypnotizing highly energetic soundscape.

Review: Anders Trentemoller was the noughties' greatest crossover star. From his humble beginnings releasing sleek tech house on imprints like Naked Music, Audiomatique and of course Berlin's Poker Flat - who released his modern classic The Last Resort in 2006. It gets a much deserved reissue here. Trentemoller went on to form his well received In My Room imprint, and go on to headline festivals and pack out stadiums with his acclaimed live show since. The Danish producer's debut album is actually appearing on vinyl for the first time here on a triple disc gatefold and featuring all 13 songs. Review: Berlin based Martin Landsky is by no means a prolific producer, restricting his output to one or two EPs a year, but his undeniable consistency ensures you best check them when they do drop! He returns to regular haunt Poker Flat for the first time since appearing alongside label boss Steve Bug almost a year ago with the decidedly effective tech house workout The Composer. It may begin in unassuming fashion - little more than a tight groove twisting around those slick rhythms - but there's a flawless quality to the way it gradually builds via low reaching bass and Teutonic titular refrains before bursting into all engulfing flourishes of synth. Moodmusic boss Sasse pops up with a remix on the flip that naturally swerves the production into deeper territory and does a splendid job of teasing out the acidic qualities as the track inevitably builds towards its climactic release and epic breakdown.
